Highlights of the Valley of flower & Hemkund Sahib Trek

  • Valley of flower was declared a national park in 1982, and now is a World Heritage Site.
  • The valley of flower gets various blooming colorful flowers from July till September. At different altitude, the valley embraces different alpine vegetation which makes it richly diverse area & home to variety Fauna and Flora. It also houses the rare and endangered animals as Asiatic black bear, snow leopard, brown bear and blue sheep. It is also part of Nanda Devi Biosphere.
  • Visit to Hemkund Sahib, Gurudwara an important pilgrimage for Sikhs & Hindus. Also visit Lakshman temple on the banks of the lake.
  • The entire trail is adorned with sparkling waterfalls, glittering glaciers, soaring mountains, glorious rivers and secluded villages.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Haridwar – Govindghat (10 hrs drive)
Pick up from Haridwar/Dehradun drive to Sari via Rishikesh, Devprayag (sacred place where emergence of sacred river Ganga takes place after confluence of river Alaknanda & Bhagirathi), Rudraprayag (Confluence of Alaknanda & Mandakini River). Overnight stay in the Tent at Sari.

Day 02: Govindghat - Ghangaria Trek
After breakfast start trek to Deoriatal covered in 02 hrs approx. Arrive and camp near the lake & explore the exhilaration site of Deoriatal Lake, where beauty reach its pinnacle, when reflection of glittering snow capped peaks of Chaukhamba and Neelkanth showcase its glory on serene water of lake. Indulge yourself in salubrious surrounding & nature bounties.

Day 03: Ghangaria – Valley of flower - Ghangaria (Trek- 5 kms /4 hrs -one way)
Rise up early morning amidst of sound of chirping birds & enjoy enticing sunrise. After breakfast start the trek to Chopta. This trek includes some moderate & steep trails which pass through dense wooded forest of Rhododendron, oak and pine trees. There are possibilities of sighting few rarest Himalayan birds as Monal. The charm of this amazing unexplored place will keep on re-energizing you. Arrive Chopta & camp here for overnight stay.

Day 04: Ghangaria – Hemkund Shahib – Ghangaria (Trek- 7 kms /6 hrs- one way
After breakfast trek towards Tungnath which is highest altitude Lord Shiva shrine. Get lucid view of some gigantic peaks as Trishul, Bandarpoonch, Kedarnath and other prominent peaks. The Shrine encircled by the amazing forests. Further continue strenuous trek to Chandrashila which will take 01 hrs to reach there. At Chandrashila summit unravel the captivating view of the snow covered peaks. Later trek back to Chopta campsite and overnight stay.

Day 5: Ghangharia – Govindghat (Trek 14 Kms/ hrs) Govindghat - Joshimath (Drive 22 Kms)
After breakfast drive to Haridwar/ Dehradun.

Day 6: Depart from Joshimath
After breakfast drive for onward destination.
