Anashakti Ashram, is the place where Mahatma Gandhi stayed on his visit to Kausani Uttarakhand. Gandhiji was greatly impressed by the majestic beauty of Kausani and named it the Switzerland of India. Here Gandhiji wrote the discourse of Anashakti Yog. The Ashrams has a good collection of books & Souvenirs related to his life.

It was founded by the disciple of Mahatma Gandhi, Katherine Hillman, known as Sarla, who dedicated her life to social services. The ashram works for the upliftment and welfare of women and is now manage by regional women.

Sumitranandan Pant was a great Indian poet who was born in Kausani. The Gallery is a tribute to his contribution to literature. There are manuscripts of his literary work & a collection of many books of other writers.

Kausani Tea Estate is 5 km from the main Kausani. Kausani experiences the best atmospheric conditions during all the major seasons of the year.

Stargate Observatory is a private observatory located within walking distance of the Kausani main market. It is a perfect place for those who have a great interest to know the universe. Here you can explore the moon, planets, galaxies, etc. It is also a great place for astrophotography, and to capture the star trails.

Baijnath Temple is 17 km from the main Kausani, located on the bank of the Gomti river in the Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand. Baijnath temple is a group of thousand-year-old temples made by the Katyuri kings around the 11th century. The temple is dedicated to Vaijnath (a form of Lord Shiva) and is also recognized as the Monuments of National Interest by the Archaeological department survey of India.

Someshwar Temple is 12 km from Kausani. This Temple was built around the 16 century but the deities in the temple are way more than in the 16th century. It is said that the deities of the temple belong to 7-15 centuries. The main deities of the temple are Shiva linga, Brahma, Ganesha & Lakulesha.

Rudradhari is about 10 km from Kausani and you have to trek 2 km to reach the waterfall and temple, which are close to each other.

Ranikhet is a beautiful hamlet in the Almora district, known for its gorgeous meadows and panoramic view of the Himalayas. It is 52 km from Kausani and 45 km from the main Almora town.
