  • Take two jeep safaris in Gir, where 891 Asiatic lions were counted in 2025, with a forest guide and licensed driver.

  • Photograph the Hall of Mirrors at the Aina Mahal in Bhuj, designed by a Kutchi craftsman trained in Europe.

  • Keep two open days in Diu at the end of the trip, so no one is rushed to a flight after the desert and the forest.

  • Know the single-room cost before you book: the single supplement is quoted per tier in Cost Build-Up below, not sprung on you later.

About

This solo travel Gujarat tour for guests. In the package you’ll cover - the White Rann of Kutch, wild Asiatic lions in Gir and the old Portuguese island of Diu. You get your own room or tent as standard, a trip leader who stays with the group throughout, and two private vehicles instead of a tour bus. Prices start at about INR 89,600 per person twin sharing, or about INR 130,900 with your own room.

It is also a small group tour Gujarat for foreigners who want company on the road without losing control of their own pace: the schedule has an open day in Diu, unscheduled afternoons at the Rann, and no obligation to pair off with anyone. We get asked constantly about solo female travel Gujarat safety, and the honest answer sits in this document rather than in a marketing line: vetted drivers, a guide present at every stop, single-occupancy tents at the desert camp as standard, and a trip leader reachable at any hour.

The sheet's route runs Ahmedabad to Bhuj to Sasan Gir to Diu and back. Bhuj to Gir direct is roughly 450 to 500 km, too far for one day with any group, so this plan adds a Rajkot night to break the drive, and reads the row's own reference to Kutch's desert-camp stays as the White Rann camp at Dhordo. Both changes keep the trip inside the sheet's ten days, with no extension. See the day-wise plan below.

ACCOMMODATION CATEGORIES

Tier labels follow the standard of the room and the property, not a star count. Solo travellers get their own room or tent as standard at every tier; two people sharing pay the twin-sharing price in Cost Build-Up. Where a property is named, it is a real hotel we plan to use. The ground team confirms every property before each departure.

WHY BOOK THIS WITH BIZAREXPEDITION

A 10-day small-group Gujarat departure, planned and run by BizareXpedition from start to finish.

  • No group coaches, ever. Across Premium, Luxury and Ultra-Luxury, BizareXpedition runs small, private vehicles. This trip moves in two vehicles for up to eight travellers, never a coach, whatever the tier.

  • A fixed departure, not a forced pairing. The group is fixed in advance, capped at eight, so you know roughly who you are travelling with before you commit. Single travellers get their own tent or room as standard; sharing is offered, never assumed.

  • Single-supplement pricing stated upfront. The per-person, twin-sharing price and the single-room supplement sit side by side in Cost Build-Up and 3-Tier Pricing below, at every tier, so there is no second number later.

  • A route that fits the map. The sheet's Bhuj-to-Gir leg direct runs 450 to 500 km, too far for a day with any group. This plan adds a Rajkot night, the same fix already proven on our Gujarat photography departures, and still closes in the sheet's ten days.

  • Honest safety information, not a badge. We do not claim a third-party safety certification we do not hold. What we do provide: a trip leader with you throughout, vetted drivers, a guide at every stop, and single-occupancy tents at Dhordo as the default, not an upsell.

  • A registered company, not a middleman. BizareXpedition Services Pvt. Ltd. (CIN U63090UR2016PTC007433), headquartered in Haridwar, plans and runs the trip itself.

Gujarat Solo Traveller 3-Tier Pricing Summary

Small-Group Departure Dates

PRACTICAL NOTES

  • Group size and age range. Groups are capped at 4 to 8 travellers. Ages typically range from the mid-20s to the 60s; there is no fixed age limit, and the exact mix for a given departure is confirmed once the group is booked, not guessed in advance.

  • Solo female travel Gujarat, specifically. A guide and driver are with the group at every stop, Tent City rooms solo travellers separately as standard, and the trip leader is reachable at any hour. There is no late-night solo access to the Rann; everyone goes out together with the guide.

  • Single supplement. Quoted per tier in Cost Build-Up and 3-Tier Pricing above. It is not a surprise charge: it is shown before you book, for every tier.

  • No group coaches. This trip runs in two private, non-coach vehicles for up to eight travellers, in line with how BizareXpedition runs every tier of every trip.

  • Sharing a room. Offered if another solo traveller on the same departure agrees to share; it is never assumed, and either traveller can decline.

  • White Rann permit. Everyone needs it, and foreign nationals give passport and Indian visa details. We apply before arrival.

  • Alcohol. Gujarat is a dry state. Foreign visitors can get a free temporary tourist permit, usually within about a day. Diu, a Union Territory, has its own rules.

  • Dress and cold. Nights on the Rann are cold in winter. Bring layers.

  • Long driving days. Days 2, 5 and 10 are six to seven hours by road, the trade-off for covering Kutch, Gir and Diu in one loop. Start times are early.

  • Connectivity. Mobile data works in cities and is weak at Dhordo and Gir.

Itinerary (Day Wise)

Travelling alone doesn’t have to mean planning everything yourself or sitting on a crowded tour bus. This 10-day Gujarat trip takes a small group of 4 to 8 people in two private cars, with a trip leader who stays with you the whole way and your own room or tent as standard. You meet the group over dinner in Ahmedabad, then head to Bhuj for the Aina Mahal’s Hall of Mirrors and on to the White Rann. There you spend two nights at the desert camp, with sunsets and sunrises on the salt flats and visits to artisan families in the Banni villages. After a night in Rajkot to break the long drive, you go on two jeep safaris in Gir looking for wild Asiatic lions. The trip ends with two easy days on Diu’s old Portuguese coast, so no one has to rush to a flight. You get company when you want it and time to yourself when you don’t.

Day 1

ARRIVE AHMEDABAD | MEETING THE GROUP

Route: Arrive Ahmedabad airport, transfer to hotel, about 20 km

Your driver meets you at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. Group members usually land through the day and into the evening, so pickups are staggered rather than all at once.

In the evening, the group meets properly for the first time over dinner. Your trip leader goes through the ten days ahead, the safety plan for the Rann nights, and introduces everyone travelling with you. This is also when any last questions about rooming, single supplements or the days ahead get answered.

Note: Typical group size is 4 to 8 travellers, in two non-coach vehicles, sharing the same guide, driver and schedule throughout. BizareXpedition does not run group-coach tours; this stays a small-group product by design.

Experience of the Day

  • Airport pickup and check-in

  • Welcome dinner and group introductions

  • Trip briefing with your trip leader

Food

Recommended: A group welcome dinner at the hotel or a nearby restaurant.

Must-Try: Gujarati thali: dal, kadhi, farsan and sweets.

Activities to Do

  • Rest and settle in

  • Welcome dinner

Day 2

AHMEDABAD TO BHUJ | INTO KUTCH, AS A GROUP

Route: Ahmedabad to Bhuj, about 340 km, 6 to 6.5 hours by road

The road runs north-west across flat farmland and salt pans into Kutch, a region that grew its own rulers, crafts and dialect from its isolation between the Gulf of Kutch and the Rann.

You reach Bhuj by mid-afternoon. Visit the Aina Mahal, commissioned by Rao Lakhpatji around 1750 and designed by Ram Singh Malam, a Kutchi craftsman who trained in Europe for 18 years. Its Hall of Mirrors is the best-known room in the region.

In the evening, walk to Hamirsar Lake together or in whatever smaller clusters the group settles into. Solo travel does not mean alone all day; it means no one is required to pair off with a stranger, and no one is left to manage logistics by themselves.

Experience of the Day

  • Hall of Mirrors at the Aina Mahal

  • Old town bazaar walk

  • Sunset at Hamirsar Lake

Food

Recommended: A Kutchi thali at a family-run restaurant in Bhuj.

Must-Try: Kutchi dabeli, the sweet-spicy potato roll with peanuts and pomegranate.

Activities to Do

  • Aina Mahal visit

  • Old town walk

  • Hamirsar Lake

Day 3

BHUJ TO DHORDO | THE DESERT CAMP

Route: Bhuj to Dhordo, about 85 km, 1 hour 45 minutes

Dhordo, named the world's Best Tourism Village by the UN World Tourism Organization in 2023, is the gateway to the White Rann, a salt marsh that dries into a bright white crust by winter. Check into Tent City, where single travellers are roomed in their own tent as standard, not paired with a stranger, unless a group member asks to share.

Go out to the salt for sunset. This is the stop solo travellers ask the most questions about before booking, and it deserves a straight answer: the Rann is remote, it is a border zone, and you are never there without your guide, your driver and the rest of the group. There is no solo wandering off across the salt after dark.

Note: The White Rann is a border security zone. Every visitor needs an entry permit, and foreign nationals give passport and Indian visa details. We apply before you arrive.

Experience of the Day

  • Check-in at Tent City

  • First sunset on the White Rann

  • Group dinner at camp

Food

Recommended: Dinner at the Tent City restaurant, a Kutchi and Gujarati buffet.

Must-Try: Bajra rotla with smoked aubergine and garlic chutney.

Activities to Do

  • Drive to Dhordo

  • Sunset on the White Rann

Day 4

THE WHITE RANN | A FULL DAY ON THE SALT

Route: Dhordo and the Banni grasslands, about 40 km local

Go out before dawn for sunrise, when the salt is at its whitest and the air is cold enough for a jacket. Later, visit Hodka and Bhujodi in the Banni grasslands, where artisan families weave and work leather in their own homes.

The afternoon is unscheduled. Rest at camp, read, or talk with the rest of the group; there is no obligation to fill every hour. Return to the salt for the second sunset, and if the dates fall near a full moon, stay on for moonrise.

The Human Story

The Vankar weavers of Bhujodi and the artisan families of Hodka sell directly from their homes. Buying there keeps the money in the village.

Experience of the Day

  • Sunrise on the White Rann

  • Banni grassland craft villages

  • Second sunset on the salt

Food

Recommended: Dinner at the Tent City restaurant.

Must-Try: Kutchi khichdi with ghee and buttermilk.

Shopping

Bhujodi for woollen shawls; Hodka for leather goods and embroidery.

Activities to Do

  • Sunrise on the salt

  • Craft village visits

  • Sunset

Optional Nearby Excursions

Rann Utsav evening programmes, when the festival is running

Day 5

DHORDO TO RAJKOT | BREAKING UP THE ROAD TO GIR

Route: Dhordo to Bhuj to Rajkot, about 343 km, 6.5 to 7 hours by road

Dhordo to Gir in one day would be roughly 450 to 500 km, more than a reasonable single day for any group, so the drive is split here in Rajkot.

After a last sunrise on the Rann, the road returns to Bhuj and then runs south-east across Saurashtra. Rajkot is a working city rather than a sightseeing stop; for group members with energy left, Kaba Gandhi No Delo, the house where Mahatma Gandhi lived as a boy, is a short, easy visit. Otherwise, this is a rest evening.

Note: This and Day 2 are the trip's two long driving days. Both exist because of real distances in Gujarat; there is no materially shorter way to connect Kutch with Gir by road.

Experience of the Day

  • A final sunrise on the White Rann

  • Crossing Kutch and Saurashtra by road

  • An early night in Rajkot

Food

Recommended: A Kathiawadi thali at a restaurant in Rajkot.

Must-Try: Kathiawadi sev tameta and bajra rotla.

Activities to Do

  • Sunrise on the salt

  • Drive to Rajkot

Optional Nearby Excursions

  • Kaba Gandhi No Delo, Gandhi's boyhood home, if time allows

Day 6

RAJKOT TO SASAN GIR | INTO LION COUNTRY

Route: Rajkot to Sasan Gir, about 185 km, 3.5 to 4 hours by road

The road runs south-west into Saurashtra's dry forest belt. You reach Gir by early afternoon, with time to settle in before the first safari.

Gir is the only place in the world where wild Asiatic lions live. The 2025 census counted 891 lions, up from 674 in 2020. The safari vehicle carries a licensed forest guide and driver, occupants stay seated, and the route is set by the permit.

For a solo traveller, the group vehicle means you are never the only client a guide has to manage, and never paying for a jeep alone.

Note: Gir is closed to safaris from 16 June to 15 October. Permits are booked as soon as the group's dates are confirmed, since winter slots sell out.

Experience of the Day

  • Drive to Sasan Gir

  • First afternoon jeep safari

  • Evening at the forest-edge lodge

Food

Recommended: A Kathiawadi thali at the lodge.

Must-Try: Bajra rotla with jaggery and ghee, and sev tameta.

Activities to Do

  • Drive to Gir

  • Afternoon safari

Day 7

SASAN GIR TO DIU | A SECOND SAFARI, THEN THE COAST

Route: Sasan Gir to Diu, about 100 km, 2.5 hours by road

The second safari runs at dawn, when the forest is coolest and quietest. After breakfast, the group drives to Diu, a small island Union Territory that was Portuguese until 1961 and still has the fort, whitewashed houses and churches to show for it.

Check in and spend the afternoon at Diu Fort and St Paul's Church. Diu is a Union Territory with its own rules, and alcohol is legal here, unlike the rest of Gujarat.

Experience of the Day

  • Dawn safari in Gir

  • Diu Fort and its sea walls

  • St Paul's Church

Food

Recommended: A seafood restaurant in Diu town.

Must-Try: Fish curry and rice, or grilled prawns.

Shopping

Small shops in town for seashell crafts.

Activities to Do

  • Dawn safari

  • Drive to Diu

  • Diu Fort and St Paul's Church

Day 8

DIU | A FREE DAY BY THE SEA

Route: Diu local sightseeing, about 30 km in all

This is the trip's open day, and solo travellers tend to use it differently from each other: some join a group outing to Naida Caves and Nagoa Beach, some read on the sand alone, some pair off to explore the old town. Both are fine; nothing is compulsory after eight days together.

Naida Caves, cut into the rock by old quarrying, make good photographs when the sun comes through the openings. Nagoa Beach is a long horseshoe of calm water.

Note: Alcohol bought in Diu cannot be taken into the rest of Gujarat, which is a dry state.

Experience of the Day

  • Naida Caves

  • Nagoa Beach

  • An open afternoon, solo or with the group

Food

Recommended: A beach restaurant at Nagoa.

Must-Try: Grilled fish with Portuguese-style seasoning.

Shopping

Seashell handicrafts and dry fish shops in the old town.

Activities to Do

  • Naida Caves

  • Beach time

  • Optional group dinner to close the trip

Optional Nearby Excursions

  • Panikotha, the small fort island, reached by boat

Day 9

DIU | A SECOND DAY, OR AN EARLY FLIGHT

Route: Diu local, about 30 km

A second day in Diu is built in deliberately. Group trips move at the pace of the slowest connection, and giving the trip two open days at the end rather than one means no one is rushed through the desert to make a flight.

Group members on a daily Diu-Ahmedabad flight, when the season's schedule allows it, can use this day to fly out early and connect onward from Ahmedabad; others stay on for a last beach day and take the road transfer on Day 10.

Note: The Diu-Ahmedabad flight is reported as a daily service of about an hour and a quarter, but schedules vary by season and are not guaranteed. We confirm current options when the group's dates are set.

Experience of the Day

  • A second free day in Diu

  • Optional early flight to Ahmedabad for onward connections

Food

Recommended: A farewell group dinner, for those still in Diu.

Must-Try: Fish curry with rice.

Activities to Do

  • Beach time

  • Optional early departure by air

Optional Nearby Excursions

  • Panikotha boat trip, if not already done

Day 10

DIU TO AHMEDABAD | DEPARTURE

Route: Diu to Ahmedabad, about 360 km, 6.5 to 7 hours by road

The group transfers back to Ahmedabad by road for onward and international flights. Book onward connections after about 6:00 pm to leave a comfortable margin.

This closes a ten-day trip built around one idea: travelling alone does not mean travelling without company, and it should not mean paying a premium to be looked after properly.

Experience of the Day

Road transfer to Ahmedabad

Onward or international departure

Food

  • Recommended: Breakfast at your hotel.

  • Must-Try: Lunch on the road.

Need To Know

Be Responsible Traveller

  1. Minimize Plastic Use : Bring a reusable water bottle, shopping bag, and utensils to reduce the need for single-use plastics. Many destinations have water refill stations and eco-friendly stores.
  2. Support Local and Sustainable Businesses : Eat at local restaurants, buy souvenirs from local artisans, and choose tour operators that prioritize sustainable practices and support the local community.
  3. Respect Wildlife and Natural Habitats : Avoid disturbing wildlife or their natural habitats. Stick to designated paths and observe animals from a distance without feeding or touching them.
  4. Dispose of Waste Properly : Follow local guidelines for recycling and waste disposal. If facilities aren't available, carry your waste with you until you can dispose of it responsibly.
  5. Educate Yourself and Others : Learn about the local environment, culture, and customs. Respect local practices and traditions, and share your knowledge about responsible travel with others.
  6. Choose Sustainable Activities : Engage in eco-friendly activities such as hiking, snorkeling, or visiting national parks. Avoid activities that exploit animals or damage the environment.
  7. Leave No Trace : Follow the principle of "Leave No Trace," which means leaving natural areas as you found them. Pack out all trash, avoid picking plants, and refrain from carving or writing on rocks or trees.
  8. Plant Trees Whenever Possible : Participate in local tree-planting initiatives or plant trees in your own community. Trees absorb carbon dioxide, provide oxygen, and help support biodiversity, making them vital for a healthy environment.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) & People Also Ask — Gujarat Solo Traveller Small Group Journey

We help you prepare for your trip and ensure an effortless and enjoyable travel experience.

Is this a solo travel Gujarat tour, or do I need a travel partner?

It is built for solo travellers. You join a fixed small group of 4 to 8 people, travel in private non-coach vehicles, and get your own room or tent as standard. No travel partner is needed.

Is this a small group tour Gujarat for foreigners specifically, or mixed with domestic travellers?

The group can include both international and Indian travellers on the same fixed date. The itinerary, pace and English-speaking guiding are built for international guests throughout.

How safe is this for solo female travellers?

A guide and driver are present at every stop, the group never splits up on the White Rann after dark, Tent City assigns solo travellers their own tent as standard, and the trip leader can be reached at any hour. We do not hold or claim a third-party safety certification; this is our own operating standard.

What is the single supplement, and why does it exist?

It is the extra cost of a private room instead of sharing, since the base price assumes two people splitting a twin room. It is quoted per tier in Cost Build-Up and 3-Tier Pricing, so you see the number before booking, not after.

How big is the group, and who else will be on it?

Groups are capped at 4 to 8 travellers in two vehicles. We do not pre-fill groups with unrelated bookings beyond that cap, and we can share the confirmed group size once your departure date is set.

What age range usually joins this tour?

Mostly mid-20s to 60s, with no fixed cut-off. The mix varies by departure and is confirmed once a group is booked.

Why does the group travel in two vehicles instead of one minibus?

BizareXpedition does not run group-coach tours at any tier. Two smaller vehicles mean shorter waits, easier stops, and no one stuck at the back of a bus.

Why is there a Rajkot night that is not on the original route?

Bhuj and Dhordo to Gir direct is roughly 450 to 500 km, too far for a group to drive safely in one day. Rajkot splits that leg, the same fix used on our other Kutch-to-Gir departures, and the trip still closes in ten days.

Can I get a private room at every stop, not just where I'm not sharing?

Yes, that is what the single supplement covers for the whole trip. It is a flat per-tier figure, not a per-night charge.

Will I see a lion in Gir?

The 2025 census counted 891 lions in Gujarat, up from 674 in 2020, but a sighting is never guaranteed. Two safaris in Gir give two chances.

Do I need a permit for the White Rann?

Yes. Everyone needs an entry permit, and foreign nationals give passport and Indian visa details. We apply for it before you arrive.

How much does the tour cost?

This 10-day tour costs about Rs.89,607 to Rs.96,776 per person, twin-sharing, at the Premium tier, plus a single supplement of about Rs.41,250 for a private room. Luxury and Ultra-Luxury figures are in 3-Tier Pricing above. Figures are indicative.
