About
The Dehradun to Chardham Yatra by Helicopter — designed and operated by BizareXpedition — brings all four sacred Dhams within a 5-night, 6-days, departing from and returning to Dehradun. It is a complete, end-to-end pilgrimage — with premium accommodation, VIP darshan at every temple, all meals, and a team that has made this journey easily and yatra accessible for all. The package cost is around is Rs. 2,25,000
Before We Talk About the Package, Let's Talk About the Yatra. For generations, the Chardham Yatra has been the journey of a lifetime — not a phrase used lightly. Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, Badrinath. Four shrines, four rivers, four moments of reckoning with something larger than yourself. Pilgrims have walked these routes since before roads existed. Some have wept at the sight of Kedarnath. Some have stood at the banks of Yamunotri in the first light of morning and felt, for the first time in years, genuinely quiet inside. What changes is how much of yourself you have left when you arrive.
Why the Char Dham by Helicopter from Dehradun best?
The traditional Chardham circuit by road takes 10-12 days. For younger, physically fit travelers, that journey has its own profound character. But for many — the people who most deeply need this pilgrimage, the road route has become a barrier rather than a path.
Elderly parents who've waited decades. People managing health conditions. Families where time is genuinely limited. Professionals who cannot take three weeks away. People who have tried the road route before and know, honestly, what it costs them physically.
The Char Dham yatra from Dehradun by helicopter removes those barriers without removing the experience. You still stand inside Kedarnath. You still hear the bells of Badrinath. The air at Gangotri is still cold enough to make your eyes water. The helicopter just means you get there with enough left in you to be present.
BizareXpedition has carried pilgrims in their late 60s 70s on this circuit. We've seen people complete this yatra who genuinely believed, until they did it, that it was no longer possible for them. That, more than the flight time or the hotel stars, is what this package is about.

Dehradun to 4 dham yatra Helicopter Itinerary
Day 1 — Arrival in Dehradun | Welcome & Briefing
Your journey begins the evening before the first flight. BizareXpedition's team receives you at your Dehradun hotel, runs through the complete itinerary, and ensures your documentation — Yatra Registration QR codes, ID proofs, biometric registration letters — is in order. This pre-departure briefing is not procedural; it's the moment the trip becomes real. Dinner is included.
Day 2 — Dehradun → Yamunotri Dham
Report time: 5:30 AM at Sahastradhara Helipad
Weight checks and safety briefings happen before every departure, no exceptions. The ground crew is professional and unhurried — they've seen first-time flyers and nervous seniors and everything in between, and they know how to make the boarding process feel human rather than procedural.
The flight toward Yamunotri takes you over terrain that, from the ground, would require most of a day to reach. From the air, the Garhwal Himalaya reveals itself in a way that no road journey can quite replicate — ridgeline after ridgeline, rivers that look like silver threads, and then suddenly the valley of the Yamuna river spreading below you.
VIP darshan is facilitated. After prayers, you are flown to your overnight accommodation — a premium property in the region — where lunch and dinner await.
Day 3 — Yamunotri → Gangotri Dham
The flight from the Yamunotri sector to Gangotri is itself a Himalayan experience — you fly over high passes that separates two river valleys, crossing territory that pilgrims once took weeks to traverse.
At Gangotri, the walk from the helipad to the temple is manageable for most. Ground staff from BizareXpedition accompany the group. After VIP darshan and time to sit by the Bhagirathi, you return for the flight to your next overnight property.
The evening meal conversation on this night tends to drift naturally into what the day felt like.
Day 4 — Gangotri → Kedarnath Dham
The Dehradun to Chardham Yatra by helicopter route to Kedarnath typically stages through one of three lower helipads — Phata, Sersi, or Guptkashi — where you board a shuttle helicopter for the final approach to the Kedarnath helipad. This shuttle leg, approximately 8 to 10 minutes, is the closest most people will get to flying into the lap of the Himalayas.
From the Kedarnath helipad, the temple is roughly 400 to 500 metres. For those who can walk, this short approach through the stone-paved path — with the temple emerging ahead and the mountains framing it — is worth every step. For those who cannot, pony and palki services are available on-site.
VIP darshan also included here — peak-season normal queues at Kedarnath can stretch for four to six hours. Your VIP slip means you are inside, before the sanctum sanctorum of the Jyotirlinga, in a fraction of that time. Overnight stay in Kedarnath or fly back to the Guptkashi or Phata for stay
Day 5 — Kedarnath → Badrinath Dham
The final shrine. Badrinath sits in a valley broader than Kedarnath, warmer in character, golden in the afternoon when the sun catches the temple façade. This is Vishnu's dham, the abode of Badrivishal, and it carries a different energy — more accessible somehow, more welcoming, as if the circuit is preparing you gently for the return to ordinary life.
The Char dham by helicopter from Dehradun route reaches Badrinath directly. The helipad is 1 to 2 kilometres from the temple, and a vehicle transfer (included in your package) takes you to the entrance. After VIP darshan and time to absorb the surroundings — the Alaknanda river, the Neelkanth peak in the distance, the constant sound of bells — you return to your accommodation for the final night of the circuit.
Many pilgrims on this evening describe a particular kind of quiet — not emptiness, but the feeling of having completed something that was waiting to be completed. Dinner is included. The night is yours. Overnight: Premium property in Badrinath
Day 6 — Badrinath → Dehradun | Journey Complete
Morning prayers, final breakfast, and the flight back to Dehradun. You'll be back at Sahastradhara by midday in most cases, in time for lunch, for an afternoon flight home, or for simply sitting somewhere and letting the week settle.
BizareXpedition's ground team manages all transfers from the helipad to your onward transport.
What's Included in the Package
All helicopter flights across the complete Chardham circuit (Dehradun ↔ Yamunotri ↔ Gangotri ↔ Kedarnath ↔ Badrinath ↔ Dehradun).
Shuttle helicopter transfer to Kedarnath helipad.
Vehicle ground transfers at Badrinath and Gangotri.
5 nights premium accommodation (twin-sharing basis).
All meals — breakfast, lunch, and dinner throughout the circuit.
VIP Darshan slips at all four shrines.
Dedicated BizareXpedition ground handling team at every stop.
Pre-departure briefing, documentation assistance, and biometric registration guidance.
What's Not Included
Personal expenses and gratuities
Extra weight charges (for passengers above 75 kg — approximately ₹1,000–₹2,500 per additional kg)
Dehradun to Chardham Yatra by Helicopter Price
Full Chardham Circuit (all 4 Dhams): From ₹2,40,000 per person Do Dham Option (Kedarnath + Badrinath): From ₹1,45,000 per person
These prices cover a premium, all-inclusive experience. 5 nights of quality accommodation, all meals, VIP darshan passes at four high-demand temples, multiple helicopter sectors, and full ground handling — the per-element cost is genuinely competitive.
Factors that influence the final price:
Travel dates: May–June peak season carries higher demand pricing. September–October often offers slightly better availability.
Group size: Families and larger groups may access customised pricing on request.
Passenger weight: Operators charge for excess weight above the 75 kg limit. This is an aviation requirement, not a policy choice.
Booking Deposit: 50% advance required to confirm seats. Balance due 20 days before departure. After that date, cancellations by the passenger are not possible.
Book early. The Char Dham yatra from Dehradun by helicopter is one of the most in-demand pilgrimage products in India. For May and June departures, 60 to 70% of slots fill within weeks of the season opening. September–October slots open mid-year and fill nearly as fast. If you're considering a specific date window, the right time to lock it in is now.

Biometric Registration
Every pilgrim — regardless of age, health status, or travel type — must complete the Uttarakhand government's biometric registration on the official Tourist Care portal before arriving at the helipad. This produces a Yatra Registration Letter or QR code that is checked at boarding and at the shrine gates.
BizareXpedition guides you through this process as part of onboarding. It is not complicated, but it cannot be skipped, and it cannot be completed at the last minute. We will ensure yours is done well before departure day.
What You Need to Know Before You Fly
Flying at high altitude in the Himalayas is categorically different from a commercial airline flight. The air is thinner, the terrain is unforgiving, and weather can shift within minutes. DGCA regulations for mountain flying exist precisely because these routes demand it — and they are followed strictly.
Weight and luggage rules are not negotiable:
Passenger Weight: 75 kg (approx.)
Extra Weight: Additional charges may apply
Baggage Allowance: 5 kg per person
Bag Type Allowed: Soft duffel bag
Hard suitcases, rigid frames, and oversized bags are prohibited. This is not an aesthetic preference — a poorly balanced aircraft in thin mountain air is a safety matter. Pack in a soft duffel and pack light.
Flight windows: Operations run strictly between sunrise and sunset. If cloud cover drops visibility below operational thresholds or wind speeds become unsafe, flights are grounded. This is the correct decision, and BizareXpedition will always support it.
The One Thing Most Pilgrims Underestimate
Road travelers acclimatize gradually as they gain altitude over days. Helicopter pilgrims go from Dehradun (approximately 640 metres) to Kedarnath (3,583 metres) in under an hour. That is a significant physiological jump, and your body knows it.
Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) can affect anyone, regardless of age or fitness. Symptoms include headaches, dizziness, nausea, and breathlessness. Most are mild and manageable. A few are not.
What you can do:
Hydrate well in the days before the yatra — start before you leave home
Eat light before each flight; avoid heavy, oily food
Once you land at a high-altitude helipad, walk slowly. The urge to rush to the temple is understandable; the body needs a few minutes to adjust
Speak with your physician before travel about medications like Diamox, particularly if you have a history of respiratory issues
Carry any prescription medication in your 5 kg hand luggage — not in any checked portion
BizareXpedition's ground staff are trained to recognise AMS symptoms. Oxygen cylinders are available on-site. In the rare event of a medical emergency, helicopter evacuation can be arranged. Our team has handled these situations before and knows exactly what to do.
Senior Citizen Accessibility
The steepest section of the traditional Kedarnath route is a 16-kilometre trek with a 1,500-metre elevation gain. Yamunotri involves a 6-kilometre hill walk. For anyone with joint problems, cardiovascular conditions, or simply the honest wear of decades — these are not small tasks.
The Char Dham yatra from Dehradun by Helicopter removes them entirely. What remains is: the temple, the prayers, the priests, the prasad, the sound of the bells, the smell of incense, the cold air, the mountains. None of that is removed. All of the suffering is.
BizareXpedition has facilitated this yatra for pilgrims in their mid-80s. The oldest passenger we've carried on the full circuit was 87 years old. She completed all four Dhams. She cried at Kedarnath — not from the altitude, she said, but from finally being there.
For passengers under active medical treatment: A fitness certificate from your physician is required before boarding. This protects you. Carry it along with your other documents.
Weather, Disruptions, and What Happens If Plans Change
The Himalayan weather operates without deference to itineraries. Every pilgrim who has ever travelled these mountains — by road or by air — knows this. It is part of the terrain.
If flights are delayed or cancelled due to weather:
BizareXpedition will attempt to reschedule to the following day at no additional flight cost
If a sector cannot be completed at all, a proportionate refund for that flying sector is issued, minus applicable deductions and GST
Any additional accommodation or meals required during a weather delay are borne by the passenger — this is industry-standard and clearly communicated upfront
What we Advise:
Build at least one day of buffer on either side of your yatra window. Arriving in Dehradun a day early gives you margin if Day 1 weather pushes the start. Having one flexible day after the scheduled return means a weather delay doesn't cascade into a missed flight home.
Pack one additional warm layer and a small overnight kit even on the days you plan to return to base. It takes almost no space, and if the Himalayas decide to hold you for an extra night, you'll be glad you did.

Char Dham Best Time to Visit
The September–October window is increasingly popular among pilgrims who missed the May–June slot or prefer the slightly cooler temperatures and clearer post-monsoon air. Yatra gates for Phase 2 typically open around September 15th. If you're considering this season, begin the booking conversation now — Phase 2 packages are announced mid-year and fill quickly.
Packing for the Chardham Heli-Yatra
You'd be surprised how comfortably you can pack for 6 days in 5 kg. The key is layering rather than bulk:
Documents: Original Aadhaar / Passport, Yatra Registration Letter or QR code printout, medical fitness certificate if applicable, any prescription medication
Clothing: 2 sets of thermal innerwear, 1 heavy windproof jacket, 2 pairs warm trousers or comfortable trekking pants, woolen socks (carry extra pairs — cold, wet socks are miserable at altitude), a light fleece mid-layer
Footwear: One pair of sturdy, non-slip walking shoes. These need to be on your feet at boarding, not in your bag.
Personal care: Sunscreen (the UV intensity at altitude is severe), lip balm, UV-protection sunglasses, a small personal first-aid kit
Why is BizareXpedition the Best Travel Agency?
BizareXpedition — Every step of your Yatra, taken care of.
There is no shortage of helicopter yatra operators in Dehradun. What separates them is almost never the aircraft — the helicopters are largely the same across operators. What differs is the ground experience: who is waiting for you when you land, how quickly problems are solved when weather disrupts the day, whether anyone explains the ritual significance of what you're about to enter, whether a senior pilgrim who is moving slowly feels hurried or held.
BizareXpedition was built around the conviction that a pilgrimage handled with genuine care — not just logistical efficiency — is a different kind of experience. Our team has made this circuit dozens of times. We know which helipads are exposed to afternoon winds. We know which accommodations at altitude are genuinely warm at night. We know when to gently redirect a pilgrim who is pushing themselves too hard, and when to let someone sit quietly by the Bhagirathi for as long as they need.
That knowledge, accumulated across seasons, is what you're booking when you book with us.
