About
This is a private, 9-day tour built around the International Yoga Festival Rishikesh Package. It covers the full 7-day festival, plus a night in Haridwar on either end, with your own guide, driver and vehicle throughout. You stay in a riverside hotel close to the ashram rather than in an ashram room, your guide handles registration and your wristband, and the week is paced with a day off the mat, an Ayurveda day and a private couple's yoga session so the festival's size doesn't wear you out. Three tiers are available — Premium, Luxury and Ultra-Luxury — and the festival pass itself is booked and paid separately, at the organiser's price.
Package Information
This international yoga festival Rishikesh package puts you at the festival for its full seven days. The International Yoga Festival is held every March at Parmarth Niketan, in Swargashram on the banks of the Ganga, and the 2027 edition runs from 9 to 15 March. This Rishikesh yoga festival tour package is built around it: a night in Haridwar, seven nights in Rishikesh, and a private guide, driver and vehicle from the airport to the airport. It is a Parmarth Niketan yoga festival experience for guests who want the festival without the logistics.
The festival is large. Its own programme lists more than 12 hours of activity a day and more than 70 hours of classes over the week, in styles that include Kundalini, Power Vinyasa, Iyengar and Kriya Yoga, with evening discussions led by spiritual teachers. Nobody attends all of it, and a good week is one you have paced. That is why this is a private yoga festival tour Rishikesh guests can shape day by day: some days are full, one is a day off the mat, one is for Ayurveda, and each one has a car and a guide on call.
The package is a yoga holiday India offers at its most concentrated, and it is priced as a tailor-made Rishikesh yoga retreat in three tiers, Premium, Luxury and Ultra-Luxury. You stay near the ashram in a riverside hotel and not in an ashram room, so you have your own room, bathroom and door. A Haridwar Rishikesh private tour would show you the towns. This one shows you the week.
What to know before you book. Festival passes are sold only through the official festival website, and ashram rooms are reported to fill quickly, so book early. The pass fee is paid at the organiser's price and is not included in our price. Dress is modest, with shoulders and knees covered. The ashram is vegetarian, with no alcohol or eggs. And in 2027 the festival follows Haridwar's Ardh Kumbh, so roads around Haridwar are busy in early March.
Dates. The organisers give 9 to 15 March for 2027. Dates moved between years: sources we read for 2026 disagree, and a 2025 press report gave 1 to 7 March. We confirm the dates on the official site before we quote.
WHY BOOK THIS WITH BIZAREXPEDITION
A festival this size is easy to attend and hard to enjoy without a plan.
Haridwar is our home base. BizareXpedition™ Services Pvt. Ltd. (CIN U63090UR2016PTC007433) is headquartered in Haridwar, 25 km down the river from Rishikesh, so the roads, the hotels and the ghats are known to us first-hand.
Privacy is the plan. You have your own vehicle, your own guide and your own room, with the driver waiting at the ashram. Nobody joins the car and you leave a session whenever you want to.
We register you. Your guide collects your wristband and reads the schedule with you each morning, so you do not queue or guess which hall a session is in.
The week is paced. A day off the mat, an Ayurveda day and a private yoga session are built in, so the seventh day feels as good as the first.
Three tiers, one route. The Premium, Luxury and Ultra-Luxury versions share the same route and the same guide standard. The tiers change the hotel, the vehicle and the private touches.

International Yoga Festival Rishikesh Accommodation Categories
Note on hotels. For this package the hotel is chosen by its distance from the ashram. Aloha on the Ganges is in Tapovan, a little over a kilometre from Laxman Jhula. Rishikesh's best-known luxury resorts, such as The Roseate Ganges (a listing gives it as 19 km from Laxman Jhula) and Ananda in the Himalayas, are much further out, and a festival day with a 12-hour programme is hard to enjoy from that far. So the Luxury and Ultra-Luxury tiers stay close to Parmarth Niketan, and the Ultra-Luxury tier adds a Mercedes on the plains legs and the private touches. Haridwar has no ultra-luxury property. Property names are proposals and are confirmed at booking. Rates in this document are modelled, not contract rates.

Prices are indicative and modelled, and exclude the festival pass. The upper figure covers date and season variation. The final quote depends on dates, hotels confirmed and any upgrade you choose.
Why Choose This Rishikesh Yoga Festival Package
Built around one very large event, not against it. The festival runs over 12 hours a day and more than 70 hours of classes across the week — genuinely too much for anyone to attend in full. This itinerary is shaped around choosing well, not attending everything.
A private trip in the middle of a public festival. Your vehicle, driver and guide belong to your party alone for all nine days. Nobody else joins the car, and you can leave any session whenever you want to.
Registration handled for you. Your guide collects your wristband and walks the printed festival schedule with you each morning, so you're not queuing at the registration desk or guessing which hall a class is in.
Your own room, not an ashram bunk. You stay at a riverside hotel a short walk from Parmarth Niketan, with your own room, bathroom and door — many festival-goers stay inside the ashram itself, but this trip is built for guests who'd rather not.
The week is paced on purpose. A day away from the mat, a slower Ayurveda day, and a private one-hour yoga session for two at your hotel are built into the plan, not left for you to arrange.
Local to the last mile. BizareXpedition is headquartered in Haridwar, 25 km down the river from Rishikesh, so the roads, the hotels near the ashram and the ghats are known first-hand, not from a brochure.

International Yoga Festival Rishikesh Season Adjustments
What You'll Experience
The full seven-day festival. Attend the International Yoga Festival at Parmarth Niketan from opening to closing day, choosing from over 70 hours of classes in styles that include Kundalini, Power Vinyasa, Iyengar and Kriya Yoga, plus evening talks with visiting spiritual teachers.
The Parmarth Niketan Ganga aarti. Held from 6 to 7 pm in March on the ashram's own ghat — your guide shows you where to sit so you see the lamps on the water rather than the crowd behind you.
A private yoga session for two. A one-hour session with a private teacher at your hotel, giving you something that's entirely yours in the middle of a very large public event.
A day off the mat. A walk across the Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula footbridges and an evening at Triveni Ghat, with an open afternoon to rest, shop or simply do nothing.
An Ayurveda day. A doctor's consultation and a massage for two, timed for around the midpoint of the week when most guests are ready to slow down.
A gentle start at Haridwar. One night before the festival begins, with the Mansa Devi ropeway and the evening river aarti, so you arrive settled rather than straight off a flight and into a crowd.
Who This Trip Suits
Yoga practitioners at any level who want the festival's full range of classes without losing a week to queueing, crowd navigation or shared dorm-style ashram rooms
Couples and friends who'd rather have their own room, their own car and their own pace than a group tour schedule
First-time festival-goers who want someone else to handle registration, the wristband and the daily schedule, so the only decision left is which class to attend
Anyone drawn to Rishikesh's wider yoga scene but who also wants a proper hotel bed, a private bathroom and a quiet room to return to after a long festival day
Travellers comfortable with a vegetarian, alcohol-free week since both Haridwar and Rishikesh are dry towns and the ashram itself serves vegetarian meals only
PRACTICAL NOTES
Passes and registration. Passes are sold only on the official festival website. Week passes and day passes exist. Transfers to another person were free until 8 February in 2027, and cancellations cost 5% more than 30 days out and 50% inside 30 days. We register you as guests of the tour.
What the pass covers. Classes, lectures, performances, meals and drinks. Vegetarian meals are served, and dietary preferences cannot be guaranteed for every guest.
Dress and conduct. Shoulders and knees are covered at all times, including in classes, and see-through clothing is not allowed. Alcohol, eggs and meat are not allowed in the ashram. By collecting the wristband you also agree that the festival may use your image.
Pacing. The programme runs from early morning to late evening. Most guests go to one or two sessions a day and rest between them. Nobody checks attendance.
Your own room. You stay at a hotel and not in the ashram, so you have your own room, bathroom and door.
Weather. March days reach 24 to 29 C, and nights fall to about 12 C. Bring a light layer for early mornings and evenings, and a rain jacket for the odd shower.
Health. The festival has a medical service on site, with limited hours, and after-hours emergencies go to the help desk. Check with a doctor if you have a heart, back or joint condition, and tell the guide about injuries before a class.
Vegetarian Rishikesh. Rishikesh and the ashram are vegetarian and alcohol-free, and hotel menus follow suit. Delhi has no such limit.
Crowds at Haridwar. In 2027 the Ardh Kumbh is on in Haridwar until 20 April. We time the Haridwar night and the road out around the main bathing days.
Ghat access. The aarti at Parmarth Niketan is open to visitors of every background. At Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar, boards put up in January 2026 say non-Hindus are prohibited, though the town commissioner said there was no formal directive. We confirm the position for your dates.

Itinerary (Day Wise)
Nine days built around one very large week: the International Yoga Festival at Parmarth Niketan, on its ghat above the Ganga in Swargashram. A night in Haridwar softens the arrival, then seven nights in Rishikesh put you a short walk from the ashram gates, in your own hotel room rather than a shared dorm bed. Your guide collects the wristband on the first morning and reads the day's schedule with you over breakfast, while the car waits outside for whenever you're ready to leave a session. Midweek breaks the festival on purpose: a walk across the two footbridges to Triveni Ghat, an Ayurvedic consultation and a massage for two, and one private yoga hour at the hotel that belongs to nobody else. The festival pass itself is booked and paid separately, at the organiser's rate.
Day 1
DELHI TO HARIDWAR | The Road to the River
Route: Delhi – Roorkee – Haridwar
Your trip lead meets you at arrivals and the drive north begins. The road crosses the flat farmland of western Uttar Pradesh to Roorkee, where you stop at the Upper Ganges Canal, opened in 1854 and fed by water taken from the Ganga at Haridwar. That is worth knowing before you arrive, because the barrage at Har Ki Pauri is where the canal begins.
Haridwar is where the Ganga leaves the mountains and enters the plains. You check in, rest, and walk to the river at dusk for the evening aarti, when lamps are floated on the current. It is a gentle first evening, one night before the festival begins.
Ghat access and crowds. In January 2026 the Shri Ganga Sabha put up boards at Har Ki Pauri saying non-Hindus are prohibited, and the town commissioner said the state had issued no formal directive. We confirm the position for your dates. If a guest cannot use the ghat, the aarti is watched from the far bank or another ghat. Separately, Haridwar's Ardh Kumbh runs from 14 January to 20 April 2027, with main bathing days on 6 and 8 March in the schedule we read. That falls the week before the 2027 festival, so we time the Haridwar night and the road out around it.
Experience of the Day
– Stop at the Upper Ganges Canal in Roorkee.
– Evening aarti at Haridwar, with a quiet seat where we can arrange one.
Food
Dinner at the hotel or a vegetarian restaurant chosen by your guide. Haridwar is a vegetarian, alcohol-free town.
Activities to Do
Airport pickup
Drive to Haridwar
Evening aarti at the river
Optional Nearby Excursions
Mansa Devi by ropeway in the morning, if you have time before the drive.
Day 2
HARIDWAR TO RISHIKESH | Festival Opening Day
Route: Haridwar – Rishikesh (Swarg Ashram)
In the morning the ropeway takes you up to Mansa Devi for a view of Haridwar laid out along the river. Then the road follows the Ganga north to Rishikesh, the town most of the world knows as the home of yoga.
The International Yoga Festival opens today at Parmarth Niketan in Swargashram, on the banks of the Ganga. The festival was first organised in 1999 and runs for seven days. Your guide takes you to collect your wristband, walks you around the ashram grounds, and shows you the halls, the dining area and the ghat before the first session, so nothing is a surprise on the second morning.
In the evening you join the Ganga aarti at Parmarth Niketan, held from 6 to 7 pm between March and October. Take your first session or simply watch. There is no test on the first day.
The Human Story
Parmarth Niketan began in 1942, when Swami Shukdevanandji Maharaj built a few huts, a hall and a dining room and gave the place its name, an abode dedicated to the welfare of all. Since 1986 Swami Chidanand Saraswati has been its president and spiritual head. Today it is the largest ashram in Rishikesh, with more than 1,000 rooms, and its own material says it is open to all visitors regardless of nationality or religion.
The pass. Festival passes are sold only through the official festival website, and the pass covers classes, lectures, performances, meals and drinks. Dress is modest, with shoulders and knees covered in classes and around the ashram, and the ashram is vegetarian with no alcohol or eggs. We register you as a guest of the tour, and the pass fee is paid at the organiser's price.
Experience of the Day
– Mansa Devi ropeway at Haridwar.
– Wristband collection and a walk through the ashram grounds.
– Evening Ganga aarti at Parmarth Niketan.
Food
Lunch at the hotel or a riverside café. Dinner is either at the ashram, where meals are included in the pass, or at your hotel.

Day 3
RISHIKESH | Finding Your Rhythm
Route: Rishikesh (Parmarth Niketan and hotel)
The festival programme is long, with more than 12 hours of activity a day and more than 70 hours of classes across the week, in styles that include Kundalini, Power Vinyasa, Iyengar and Kriya Yoga. Nobody attends all of it. The pace of this package is built around that fact.
Today you pick a rhythm. A common choice is one morning class, one afternoon at the hotel, and an evening lecture or the aarti. Your guide reads the printed schedule with you over breakfast and marks the sessions that fit your level and your energy.
Later in the day a private teacher joins you at the hotel for a one-hour session for two, so you have something that is entirely yours in the middle of a large event.
Experience of the Day
– Morning festival class of your choice.
– Private yoga session for two at the hotel.
– Evening lecture or aarti.
Food
Vegetarian meals throughout. Lunch and dinner are covered at the ashram by the pass, or you can eat at the hotel. Your guide can point you to a café for fresh juice and a light lunch.

Optional Nearby Excursions
A slow walk along the riverbank between sessions.
Day 4
RISHIKESH | A Day Off the Mat
Route: Rishikesh (Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula, Triveni Ghat)
Midweek is the day to leave the festival for a few hours. A festival week can leave you tired, and the plan builds this day in on purpose.
Your guide walks you across Ram Jhula and back across Laxman Jhula, the two suspension footbridges over the Ganga, and down to Triveni Ghat, where the evening aarti is held from 5:30 to 6:30 pm in winter and from 6:30 to 7:30 pm in summer. The markets near the bridges sell books, cotton clothes and rudraksha beads, and the guide points out shops that keep fixed prices.
In the afternoon there is nothing on the plan. Rest, read, or take a class if you want one.
Experience of the Day
– Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula on foot.
– Triveni Ghat at sunset.
– A quiet afternoon.
Food
Lunch at a vegetarian café in Tapovan or near the bridges. Rishikesh is known as a vegetarian, alcohol-free town.
Shopping
Books on yoga and philosophy, cotton clothes and rudraksha beads near the bridges. Ask the guide about prices before buying.
Activities to Do
Walk the two bridges
Triveni Ghat
Market visit
Rest afternoon
Optional Nearby Excursions
The Beatles Ashram, also known as Chaurasi Kutia, with your guide.
A rafting stretch on the Ganga, if the river and the rules allow it on your date.
Day 5
RISHIKESH | Philosophy and Evening Talks
Route: Rishikesh (Parmarth Niketan)
The evening programme at the festival includes discussions with leading spiritual teachers, and the daytime programme includes meditation and breath work alongside the postures. Today is the day for the parts of yoga that do not need a mat.
Your guide suggests a morning of pranayama or meditation, a long lunch, and then the evening discussion. If a session is not to your taste you leave it. You keep the vehicle and the guide on call all day.
The Ganga runs beside the ashram, and the ghat is a fine place to sit between sessions.
Experience of the Day
– Morning pranayama or meditation session.
– Evening discussion with a spiritual teacher.
– Time at the ghat.
Food
Meals at the ashram are included in your pass and are vegetarian and simple. The hotel menu is available for the evenings you prefer to eat there.

Morning meditation or pranayama
Evening discussion
Ghat time
Optional Nearby Excursions
A sound or music programme, where the schedule has one.
Day 6
RISHIKESH | Ayurveda and Rest
Route: Rishikesh (hotel, spa, Ganga)
By the fifth festival day many guests want to slow down. This day is left light. An Ayurvedic doctor sees you for a consultation, and you both have a massage in the afternoon.
You may go to one morning class and skip the rest. If you prefer to go to the festival all day, the guide can move the treatments to another slot.
Dinner is quiet and early.
Experience of the Day
– Ayurvedic consultation.
– Massage for two.
– One class if you want it.
Food
Vegetarian meals, with the Ayurvedic doctor's advice on what to eat while you are in treatment.

Day 7
RISHIKESH | Breath and Stillness

With the last two days ahead, this is the day to take the longest practice. Your guide suggests a full morning session, and the evening programme is a good time for kirtan or a talk.
The Ganga aarti at Parmarth Niketan is at 6 pm in March, and by now you know where to sit.
Experience of the Day
– A long morning session.
– Evening kirtan or a talk.
– The aarti from your usual place.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) & People Also Ask — International Yoga Festival Rishikesh Experience
We help you prepare for your trip and ensure an effortless and enjoyable travel experience.
When is the International Yoga Festival in Rishikesh?
The organisers give 9 to 15 March for 2027, at Parmarth Niketan in Swargashram. The dates change from year to year, so we confirm them on the official site before we quote. Later years are announced by the organisers, and we build the package once they are.
How do I register for the International Yoga Festival?
Through the official festival website, which is the only place passes are sold. Week passes and day passes exist, and a limited number may be sold on site. We register you as guests of the tour and your guide collects your wristband. The pass fee is paid at the organiser's price.
Do I have to stay at Parmarth Niketan during the festival?
No. Many guests do, but this package uses a riverside hotel close to the ashram, so you have your own room and bathroom and a quiet place to rest. The ashram has more than 1,000 rooms.
What is included in a festival pass?
Classes, lectures, performances, meals and drinks, with more than 12 hours of daily programming over seven days. Meals are vegetarian. Indian citizens get a discounted pass that includes accommodation. On festival days lunch and dinner can be taken at the ashram.
What should I wear at the International Yoga Festival?
Cover your shoulders and knees at all times, including in classes, and avoid see-through clothing. Alcohol, eggs and meat are not allowed in the ashram. Bring light cotton for the day and a layer for early mornings and evenings, since March nights are about 12 C.
Is the festival suitable for beginners?
Yes, the festival includes sessions for all levels, though the programme is large and some classes are advanced. Your guide reads the schedule with you each morning and marks the classes that suit your level. A private session at the hotel gives you a gentler place to start.
How many days do you need for the International Yoga Festival?
The festival runs seven days. This package uses nine days from Delhi, with a night in Haridwar first and the festival's opening day on Day 2. A shorter trip catches part of the week, and you can also join with day passes for a few days only.
What is the weather in Rishikesh in March?
Pleasant. Days reach about 24 to 29 C, nights fall to about 12 C, and there are about three rainy days in the month. It is one of the better months to visit, and early mornings and evenings by the river are cool enough for a light layer.
Can non-Hindus attend the Ganga aarti at Parmarth Niketan?
Yes. Parmarth Niketan's own material says it is open to all visitors regardless of nationality or religion, and the aarti is held from 6 to 7 pm in March. At Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar, boards put up in January 2026 say non-Hindus are prohibited, so we confirm the position for your date.
Is the International Yoga Festival crowded?
Yes, it is a large event, with classes and talks running for about 12 hours a day. The plan keeps you at one or two sessions a day, keeps the vehicle at the ashram, and builds in a day off the mat and an Ayurveda day so the crowd does not wear you out.
Is Rishikesh safe for tourists?
Rishikesh is generally safe for tourists. The main risks are the river current and traffic on the bridges. Swim only where your guide says, keep valuables in the hotel, and tell the guide about any late-evening plans.
How much does a private yoga festival tour of Rishikesh cost?
