About

Start among the golden forts and painted palaces of Rajasthan. Finish watching the sun rise over the snow peaks of the Annapurna range. In between, you’ll walk through ancient temple squares, spin prayer wheels around giant Buddhist stupas and row across a mountain lake.

This private 16-day tour joins two bucket-list destinations in one smooth journey. You fly into Delhi, explore Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur, then cross into Nepal for Kathmandu and the lakeside town of Pokhara, flying home from Kathmandu. No backtracking, no return leg, and your own driver and guide in each country.

What is the Rajasthan & Nepal tour?

It is a private 16-day India and Nepal combined tour. In India you visit Delhi, Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur (8 nights); in Nepal you visit Kathmandu and Pokhara (7 nights), with Himalayan sunrise views from Sarangkot. It includes hotels, private cars, drivers and English-speaking guides in both countries. Flights between and within the countries, and the Nepal visa, are extra. Prices start from about Rs. 1,74,000 per person (twin share, Premium tier). Best months: October–November and February–March.

The route runs in one direction. Rajasthan comes first and Nepal last, because Udaipur has a direct flight to Delhi and Delhi has a direct flight to Kathmandu. There is no direct Udaipur to Kathmandu flight. Delhi gets two nights, Jaipur two, Jodhpur two, Udaipur two, Kathmandu four and Pokhara three. The Jaipur to Jodhpur drive is the longest road day in India at about six hours, and the Jodhpur to Udaipur drive is broken by a stop at the Ranakpur Jain temples.

Three tiers change the hotels. Premium uses well-reviewed heritage and business hotels. Luxury uses The Claridges, Jai Mahal Palace, RAAS Jodhpur, The Leela Palace Udaipur, Hyatt Regency Kathmandu and Fish Tail Lodge. Ultra-Luxury uses The Imperial, Rambagh Palace, Umaid Bhawan Palace, The Oberoi Udaivilas, Dwarika’s and Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge. Hotels can be changed city by city.

Why Combine Rajasthan and Nepal?

India and Nepal share a border, a long history and many customs, yet they feel completely different. Pairing them gives you royal desert culture and Himalayan calm in a single trip.

  • Flights are not included in the package price. We can book them for you at the fare of the day, or you can book them yourself.

  • Inside Nepal, the Kathmandu–Pokhara flight takes about 30 minutes. If you prefer, or if weather cancels the flight, the road takes six to seven hours.

Will You See the Himalaya?

Often, yes, but mountains make their own rules. The clearest views from Sarangkot are usually from October to December and in February and March. On some mornings cloud or haze hides the peaks, so we plan your time in Pokhara to give you more than one chance. Kathmandu sits at about 1,300 metres and Pokhara at about 800 metres, so altitude is rarely a concern.

Who This Tour Is For

  • First-time visitors with two to three weeks who want two countries in one trip.

  • Couples and honeymooners, with palace hotels in Rajasthan and lakeside lodges in Pokhara.

  • Families looking for culture, history and mountain scenery without trekking.

  • Travellers drawn to spirituality, with Hindu, Jain and Buddhist sites across both countries.

  • Want the Taj Mahal? This route does not include Agra. We can add Agra and the Taj Mahal at the start for one or two extra nights.

Extend Your Time in Nepal

  • Chitwan National Park, for jungle safaris, rhinos and birdlife.

  • A short trek near Pokhara, for close-up Annapurna views without high altitude.

  • A mountain flight from Kathmandu to see Everest from the air.

We can add days one at a time and update your quote.

WHY BOOK THIS WITH BIZAREXPEDITION

Guests who combine India and Nepal want a clean border between two countries, a pace that suits both, and a plan for the flights that join them. Here is how this route delivers each one.

  • A planned bridge between two countries. Day 9 is built around the two flights from Udaipur to Delhi and on to Kathmandu. There is no sightseeing that day, a buffer between the flights, and a driver waiting at each end.

  • One route, no return. You land in Delhi and leave from Kathmandu. Because you do not re-enter India, a standard single-entry Indian visa is enough, and the Nepal visa is bought on arrival at the Kathmandu airport.

  • Private cars and a local guide in each country. A driver and guide stay with you through Rajasthan, and a Nepali driver and guide take over in Kathmandu. Sealed bottled water is in the car every day.

  • Honest pacing and weather notes. Day 5 is the longest road day, and Day 9 is the longest travel day. The plan notes where weather can move a flight or hide a view, so you know what to expect before you book.

  • Two flights inside Nepal that can be swapped. The Kathmandu to Pokhara flight takes about half an hour. If you prefer the road, the drive takes six to seven hours, and we can switch on request.

  • Direct ground operator. BizareXpedition Services Pvt. Ltd. (CIN U63090UR2016PTC007433), based in Haridwar, runs the India half itself and arranges the Nepal half with its own partners, with hotels, vehicles and guides booked directly, and a 24-hour contact number is shared before you land.

Rajasthan & Nepal Combination 3-Tier Pricing Summary

Rates are indicative and modelled on BizareXpedition’s current package pricing reference, not a live quote or a contracted rate. The flights between India and Nepal and within Nepal are not in the price, and nor is the Nepal visa. The final price varies within the range with hotel availability on your dates, and is highest around Christmas, New Year and Diwali.

TWO COUNTRIES IN ONE TRIP

India and Nepal share a border and many customs, and they differ in scale and feel. These are the main differences you will notice.

  • Landscape. Rajasthan is dry country of sandstone forts, havelis and lakes. Nepal’s Kathmandu Valley sits at about 1,300 metres among green hills, and Pokhara lies beside a lake with the Annapurna range beyond it.

  • Religion and temples. Rajasthan has Hindu and Jain temples and old Mughal-era forts. Kathmandu has Hindu temples, Buddhist stupas and Newar brick towns, often side by side. Both countries ask visitors to remove shoes and cover shoulders and knees at temples.

  • Food. Rajasthani meals use lentils, wheat and ghee, with dishes such as dal baati churma. In Nepal the daily meal is dal bhat, rice with lentils and vegetables, and momo dumplings are common everywhere.

  • Currency and money. India uses the rupee and Nepal uses the Nepali rupee. Your driver and guide tell you where to change small amounts, and cards work at hotels in both countries.

  • Climate. October to November and February to March suit both countries. Rajasthan is hot from April to June, and Nepal has a monsoon from June to September that hides mountain views.

SEASON ADJUSTMENTS

Season Window Impact

Peak

October – November, February – March

The clearest mountain views in Nepal and good weather across Rajasthan. Hotels fill early, and Diwali and Dashain, in October or November, bring crowds and higher prices. Book flights early.

Cool

December – January

Cold mornings and fog in Rajasthan, which can delay flights and slow roads. Nepal is crisp, with clear mountains but cold nights in Kathmandu and Pokhara.

Hot

April – May

Rajasthan often exceeds 40°C, and Kathmandu and Pokhara are warm and hazy. Mountain views are less frequent. Rates are lower.

Monsoon

June – September

Heavy rain in Nepal hides the mountains and can delay flights and roads. Rajasthan is green but humid. This combination is not recommended in these months, and the two halves can be offered separately on request.

PRACTICAL NOTES

  • The Day 9 flights.

There is no direct service between Udaipur and Kathmandu, so you fly to Delhi and on to Kathmandu. Book a late-morning departure from Udaipur, keep your passport and papers in hand luggage, and expect the domestic baggage limits to be tighter than international ones.

  • Nepal visa.

Visitors can buy a visa on arrival at Kathmandu airport or fill in the online form before arriving. The fee was about USD 30 for 15 days at the time of writing, and rules and fees change. Bring a passport valid for six months and passport photos.

  • Indian visa.

Citizens of many Western countries apply online for an India e-Tourist visa at indianvisaonline.gov.in. A single-entry visa is enough, because you leave India for Nepal and do not return. Check the current rules and fees for your nationality.

  • Pace and long days.

Day 5 is about six hours on the road, Day 7 about five and a half hours including Ranakpur, and Day 9 is the longest travel day, with two flights. The three Nepal flight days are short, and the road is the backup for Pokhara.

  • Altitude and weather.

Kathmandu sits at about 1,300 metres and Pokhara at about 800 metres. Both are low enough that travellers rarely feel altitude effects, and the weather decides your mountain views.

  • Temple etiquette.

Remove shoes at temples and stupas. Cover shoulders and knees. Walk clockwise around stupas. Do not photograph people at cremation ghats, and leather items are not allowed at Ranakpur.

  • Water and food.

Drink only sealed bottled water, and use it to brush your teeth. Avoid ice and tap water. Eat freshly cooked, hot food, and skip salads and unpeeled raw fruit. Vegetarian, vegan and allergy needs are noted at booking.

  • Health before you travel.

See your doctor or a travel clinic four to six weeks before departure about routine and travel vaccinations. BizareXpedition does not give medical advice. Bring your usual medicines, oral rehydration salts and a basic stomach kit.

  • Approaches from strangers.

Near monuments and in markets in both countries, people may offer to guide you, sell you something or steer you to a shop. You can say no politely and keep walking. Your guide walks with you, so you never have to negotiate on your own.

  • Money, phone and internet.

Carry a small amount of rupees for India and some Nepali rupees for tips and small purchases. Cards work at hotels and larger shops. Wi-Fi is available at hotels, and a local SIM or eSIM is easy to set up in each country.

  • Drones.

Foreign visitors generally cannot fly drones in India, and Nepal requires a permit, so leave them at home.

  • Tipping.

Tips for drivers, guides and hotel staff are at your discretion. A common range is Rs.500–1,000 per day for the driver and guide combined, and small change for hotel porters.

Itinerary (Day Wise)

This trip starts among the sandstone forts of Rajasthan and ends watching the sun come up over the Himalaya. You begin in Delhi with a cycle-rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk. In Jaipur you go up to Amber Fort and look around the bazaars, and in Jodhpur you climb Mehrangarh Fort and get lost in the blue lanes of the old city. On the way to Udaipur you stop at the marble temple at Ranakpur, and once you’re there you take a sunset boat out on Lake Pichola. Then you fly through Delhi to Kathmandu, where things feel different straight away. You spin prayer wheels around Boudhanath, wander the old squares of Patan and Bhaktapur, and watch the evening rituals at Pashupatinath. A short flight takes you to Pokhara for three slow days by Phewa Lake. If the sky is clear, the sunrise from Sarangkot, with the Annapurna peaks turning pink, is worth the early alarm. You have your own driver and guide in each country, and the route runs one way, so you never double back.

You leave early, at about 8:30 a.m., and the last forty kilometres to Ranakpur wind through the hills. Ranakpur’s Jain temple, built in the 15th century in marble, has more than a thousand carved pillars, and no two are alike. Non-Jain visitors enter from about noon to 5 p.m., so the day is timed to arrive at noon. Dress modestly, and leather items are not allowed inside.

After the temple and lunch, the road runs about two hours on to Udaipur, where you arrive in the late afternoon. The hotel is near the lake, and the evening is free.

Udaipur and Kathmandu have no direct flight, so you fly to Delhi first and on to Kathmandu. We plan a late-morning flight from Udaipur and an afternoon flight from Delhi, with a buffer of three to four hours between them for the airport change and any delay. Flights are not included in the price, and we check the schedules for your dates.

You land in Kathmandu in the evening. Your Nepali driver and guide meet you at arrivals. Nepal gives a visa on arrival at the airport, and we explain the steps in your briefing. If the Delhi flight is delayed, the plan adds a night in Delhi, and we tell you before you confirm.

Kathmandu Durbar Square, the old royal square, holds palaces and temples built by the Malla and Shah kings. Parts were damaged in the 2015 earthquake and repairs continue, so some buildings are under scaffolding. Late in the afternoon you reach Boudhanath, one of the largest stupas in the world, as monks and pilgrims walk around it at dusk.

Patan, a short drive south of Kathmandu, has a Durbar Square of red brick and carved wood, with the 17th-century Krishna Mandir in stone. Bhaktapur, about an hour east, is a brick town with a pottery square, where potters set clay pots out to dry in the open, and a palace whose courtyards your guide walks you through.

In the late afternoon you visit Pashupatinath, a Hindu temple complex on the Bagmati river and on the UNESCO list since 1979. Only Hindus may enter the main temple, and other visitors watch from the east bank. Cremations take place on the ghats, so the guide explains what you see with care, and photography near the pyres is not allowed.

Morning flights are the steadiest, since cloud and rain build in the afternoon. If a flight is cancelled for weather, the plan switches to the road, a drive of six to seven hours.

In the afternoon you take a boat on Phewa Lake, across to the Tal Barahi temple on an island in the lake. Phewa is the second largest lake in Nepal, and on a clear day the Annapurna range and the peak called Machapuchare, or Fishtail, are reflected in it.

Note on Weather and flights: Flights between Kathmandu and Pokhara are sometimes delayed or cancelled by weather. The road is the backup, and the Nepal team tells you the plan the day before.

Day 13

POKHARA | SARANGKOT SUNRISE & THE PEACE PAGODA

Route: Pokhara hotel → Sarangkot → World Peace Pagoda → Devi’s Fall

You leave in the dark for Sarangkot, a hilltop at about 1,600 metres above the lake, to watch the sun reach the Annapurna range and Machapuchare. The view depends on the weather and the season, and it is clearest from October to December and again in February and March. When cloud hides the peaks, the plan offers the same walk on another morning.

After breakfast you visit the World Peace Pagoda, a white stupa built on a ridge above the lake by Japanese Buddhist monks, and then Devi’s Fall, a waterfall that vanishes underground. The afternoon is free.

Be Responsible Traveller

  1. Minimize Plastic Use : Bring a reusable water bottle, shopping bag, and utensils to reduce the need for single-use plastics. Many destinations have water refill stations and eco-friendly stores.
  2. Support Local and Sustainable Businesses : Eat at local restaurants, buy souvenirs from local artisans, and choose tour operators that prioritize sustainable practices and support the local community.
  3. Respect Wildlife and Natural Habitats : Avoid disturbing wildlife or their natural habitats. Stick to designated paths and observe animals from a distance without feeding or touching them.
  4. Dispose of Waste Properly : Follow local guidelines for recycling and waste disposal. If facilities aren't available, carry your waste with you until you can dispose of it responsibly.

  8. Plant Trees Whenever Possible : Participate in local tree-planting initiatives or plant trees in your own community. Trees absorb carbon dioxide, provide oxygen, and help support biodiversity, making them vital for a healthy environment.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) & People Also Ask — Rajasthan & Nepal Combination

We help you prepare for your trip and ensure an effortless and enjoyable travel experience.

How do we get from Rajasthan to Nepal?

By two flights on Day 9, from Udaipur to Delhi and then from Delhi to Kathmandu. There is no direct Udaipur to Kathmandu flight. We plan a buffer between the two and check the schedules for your dates. Flights are not in the price.

Do we need a visa for each country?

Yes. India needs an e-Tourist visa for many Western nationalities, bought online before you fly. Nepal gives a visa on arrival or online. A single-entry Indian visa is enough, because you leave India for Nepal and do not return.

Why does Rajasthan come first and Nepal last?

Because the flights line up that way. Udaipur flies direct to Delhi, and Delhi flies direct to Kathmandu. You also finish in Nepal, where the pace is slower, and leave from Kathmandu with no return leg.

Will we see the Himalaya?

Often, but not always. The best views from Sarangkot are from October to December and in February and March. Cloud and haze hide the peaks on some mornings, and the plan gives you a second chance on another morning where it can.

What if the Pokhara flight is cancelled?

Weather sometimes delays or cancels the flight between Kathmandu and Pokhara. The road is the backup, a drive of six to seven hours, and the Nepal team tells you the plan the day before.

When is the best time to go?

October to November and February to March suit both countries. April to May is hot in Rajasthan, and June to September is monsoon in Nepal, so we do not recommend those months for this combination.

Is it a private tour or a group tour?

It is a private tour with your own car, driver and guide in each country, with no coaches.

How long are the drives?

Delhi to Jaipur is about five to five and a half hours, Jaipur to Jodhpur about five and a half to six, and Jodhpur to Udaipur via Ranakpur about five and a half. In Nepal the drives are short, under an hour for each site.

What kind of hotels will we stay in?

Premium uses well-reviewed heritage and business hotels. Luxury names The Claridges, Jai Mahal Palace, RAAS Jodhpur, The Leela Palace Udaipur, Hyatt Regency Kathmandu and Fish Tail Lodge. Ultra-Luxury names The Imperial, Rambagh Palace, Umaid Bhawan Palace, The Oberoi Udaivilas, Dwarika’s and Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge. Names are subject to availability.

Is India safe for first-time visitors?

Yes, with sensible precautions. Violent crime against tourists is rare, and the usual problems are petty theft in crowds and pressure from touts. You travel in a private car with a guide, and the hotels are chosen for comfort and location.

Can we add a trek or Chitwan?

Yes. Chitwan National Park and short treks near Pokhara are the usual additions, and we can add days at a time. The Nepal team confirms the changes and the price.

How much does the tour cost?

The modelled price for this 16-day tour is Rs.348,100–Rs.376,000 per couple at Premium, Rs.614,600–Rs.663,800 at Luxury and Rs.1,223,200–Rs.1,321,100 at Ultra-Luxury, twin sharing. That is about Rs.174,000–Rs.188,000, Rs.307,300–Rs.331,900 and Rs.611,600–Rs.660,600 per person. These are indicative ranges, not a live quote, and the flights and the Nepal visa are extra.
