About

This is a private, 8-day Uttarakhand honeymoon package for couples who want mountains, snow, and quiet instead of a beach. The route climbs gradually through three high places — the hill estates of Mussoorie, the snow forest at Chopta, and the ski slopes of Auli — before ending with a night beside the Ganga in Rishikesh. A private vehicle, driver, and guide travel with you the entire way, no other guests ever join the car, and the trip is built specifically for the late-December-to-February snow season, at your choice of three tiers.

This Uttarakhand honeymoon package international couples can book runs eight days from Delhi through three high places: the hill estates of Mussoorie, the snow forest at Chopta and the ski slopes of Auli. It is a Mussoorie Chopta Auli honeymoon tour built for the snow season, from late December to February, and a Himalaya honeymoon trip for couples who want mountains, fire and quiet instead of a beach. It is a honeymoon in the Himalayan foothills that ends beside the Ganga, with a night in Rishikesh before the flight home.

The route climbs in steps. Two nights in Mussoorie at about 2,000 m, two at Chopta at 2,608 m and two at Auli, between 2,500 and 3,000 m, then one night in Rishikesh on the river. A private guide, driver and vehicle stay with you throughout, so this is a private honeymoon tour Uttarakhand couples can take at their own pace, with no other guests in the car and nobody to wait for. The rise is gradual, which keeps the altitude comfortable, and every night ends at a hotel with a fire or a heater.

Snow is likely, not certain. Chopta usually has snow from late December to February, and January is the deepest month. Auli's ski season runs from late December or January to March. Mussoorie sees snow only occasionally. The plan is built to be good with or without a fresh fall, and it says so on each day. This is a tailor-made Himalayan honeymoon, priced as a luxury Himalayan honeymoon India offers in three tiers, Premium, Luxury and Ultra-Luxury. It is a romantic Himalaya tour for couples who want snow, privacy and a slow pace.

WHY BOOK THIS WITH BIZAREXPEDITION

A honeymoon in snow needs a team that plans for the weather, not around it.

  • Haridwar is our home base. BizareXpedition™ Services Pvt. Ltd. (CIN U63090UR2016PTC007433) is headquartered in Haridwar, at the foot of the Garhwal hills this route crosses, so the roads and the hotels are known to us first-hand.

  • Privacy is the plan. You have your own vehicle, your own guide and your own table at every meal. Nobody joins the car, and every evening is yours.

  • The altitude is gradual. The route rises from 2,000 m to 2,608 m to about 2,800 m over six days, with rest days between the long drives, so the body has time to adjust.

  • The snow plan has a fallback. If snow closes the road above Ukhimath, the two Chopta nights move to Ukhimath or Rudraprayag and the plan drives up when the road opens. If the slopes at Auli are thin, the lesson becomes a snow walk. You are told before you travel.

  • Three tiers, one route. The Premium, Luxury and Ultra-Luxury versions share the same route and the same guide standard. The tiers change the rooms, the vehicle and the private touches.

Note on hotels. Chopta has camps and cottages, not luxury hotels, and winter camps depend on weather approval, so we book a heated lodge or cottage. Auli has only a handful of hotels and the Clifftop Club is the one on the slope, so Luxury and Ultra-Luxury share it and differ by room grade. The Roseate Ganges is near Shivpuri, upriver of Rishikesh town, and Ananda is in the hills above it. Property names are proposals and are confirmed at booking. Uttarakhand Mussoorie Chopta Auli Honeymoon 3-Tier Pricing Summary

Prices are indicative and modelled. The upper figure covers date and season variation. The final quote depends on dates, hotels confirmed and any upgrade you choose.

Why Choose This Uttarakhand Honeymoon Package

  • Genuinely private, start to finish. Your own vehicle, your own guide, and your own table at every meal — nobody else joins the car, and every evening is yours alone.

  • Built for the season, not just hopeful about it. The itinerary plans around winter's realities rather than pretending they don't exist: if snow closes the road above Ukhimath, your Chopta nights hold at Ukhimath or Rudraprayag until it clears; if the Auli slopes run thin, the ski lesson simply becomes a snow walk.

  • A gradual, comfortable climb. The route rises in easy stages — 2,000 m at Mussoorie, 2,608 m at Chopta, then 2,500–3,000 m at Auli — with rest built in between the long driving days.

  • Real couple's touches, not a checklist add-on. A bonfire dinner in the snow at Chopta, a private dinner at Auli, cake and flowers, and spa sessions in both Mussoorie and Rishikesh are part of the plan, not optional extras you have to request.

  • Run from a team that knows these roads personally. BizareXpedition is headquartered in Haridwar, at the foot of the Garhwal hills this route climbs, so winter road conditions and which hotels genuinely have a working heater aren't guesswork.

Where You'll Go

  • Mussoorie. A colonial-era hill station at about 2,000 m, founded as a resort in 1825. You'll walk the quiet lanes of Landour, climb to Lal Tibba — Mussoorie's highest point at 2,275 m — for a clear view north over the Garhwal snow peaks, and ride the cable car up Gun Hill. Snow here is an occasional bonus rather than a guarantee, so the days are planned to be good either way.

  • Chopta. A high meadow at 2,608 m inside the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary, often called Mini Switzerland for its rhododendron-and-oak forest and views of Trishul, Nanda Devi, and Chaukhamba. This is where the snow becomes the main event: a guided snow walk on the Tungnath trail by day, and a bonfire dinner with a heated room by night.

  • Auli. Skiing country, between 2,500 and 3,000 m, with a 400 m beginner slope and a 900 m advanced run served by a chairlift. A private instructor takes you both through the basics, and the afternoon walk into Gorson Bugyal — a three-kilometre meadow under snow — puts Nanda Devi and Trishul right above the treeline.

  • Rishikesh. Your final night, on the banks of the Ganga, with a couple's spa session booked before dinner and the option of an evening aarti a short drive away — a gentle, riverside close to a mountain-heavy week.

Season Dates Conditions

Peak (this build)

Late December to February

Snow at Chopta from late December, deepest in January. Auli ski season late December or January to March. Cold: about minus 5 to minus 10 C at night at Chopta. Roads can close for a day or two.

High

March to May

Chopta is pleasant at 10 to 30 C and the forest is in bloom. Auli's snow is retreating. Tungnath temple opens in early May (2 May in 2026), so the temple-access question applies.

Shoulder

October and November

Clear air and cold nights. Chopta snowfall can begin in November, and Tungnath temple closes for the winter.

Caution

June to August

Cloud cover hides the mountains at Chopta. Not offered for this route.

Monsoon

July to September

Not offered. Landslide risk is high on the Rishikesh to Chamoli road.

Uttarakhand Mussoorie Chopta Auli Honeymoon Season Adjustments

Snow depends on the year and cannot be guaranteed. Dates for the temple opening change each year and are announced in spring.

Is This Honeymoon Actually Private?

Yes, genuinely. This isn't a small-group tour with a shared vehicle — your car, driver, and guide belong to your party alone for all eight days. The only exception is a local snow guide who joins specifically for the Tungnath trail walk at Chopta, since that stretch needs someone who knows the current snow and weather conditions. Every dinner, every evening, and the pace of every day is yours to set.

Will We Actually See Snow?

This is the question every couple asks, and the honest answer is: very likely, but never guaranteed — which is exactly why the itinerary is built with a plan B at every stage, not just crossed fingers.

  • Chopta typically has snow from late December through February, with January the deepest month.

  • Auli's ski season usually runs from late December or January through March, with January to March the most reliable window.

  • Mussoorie sees snow only occasionally between December and February — it's a bonus here, not something to plan around.

If a particular season turns out dry, BizareXpedition tells you before you travel, and the Auli ski lesson simply becomes a guided snow walk instead. If heavy snow closes the road above Ukhimath, your two Chopta nights are held at Ukhimath or Rudraprayag and the drive up happens as soon as the road clears — your guide checks the road status every evening.

PRACTICAL NOTES

  • Cold. Nights at Chopta fall to between minus 5 and minus 10 C and days reach 0 to 10 C. Auli drops to about minus 8 C at its coldest. Bring thermal layers, a down jacket, waterproof boots, gloves and a warm hat.

  • Roads and chains. Snow can close the road above Ukhimath for one to two days, and frost can restrict the Auli road, where four-wheel-drive vehicles are sometimes let through when others are stopped. The vehicle carries chains and the driver never drives after dark.

  • Daylight. January has short days, with sunset at about 5:30 pm. The long drives start at dawn so you arrive before dark.

  • Fog and flights. Winter fog on the plains can slow the Delhi to Dehradun road and delay flights. Set your outbound flight for after 5 pm on Day 8 and allow a margin on arrival.

  • Altitude. Auli is between 2,500 and 3,000 m and the route rises gradually. Drink water, go slowly on the first evening and tell the guide about headache, nausea or breathlessness the same day.

  • Skiing. The lesson is for beginners and the guide can cancel it for weather or thin snow. Check that your travel insurance covers winter sports.

  • Tungnath temple. See the note at the start of this document. The temple is closed between December and February, and the trail walk is open to everyone.

  • Connectivity. Mobile signal can be patchy at Chopta and Auli. Your guide keeps a fixed daily check-in time with our office.

  • Health. Anyone with heart, lung or blood-pressure conditions should see a doctor before booking a trip above 2,000 m.

  • Cash. ATMs are rare at Chopta. Carry small notes for tea, tips and small purchases.

  • Vegetarian Rishikesh. Rishikesh is a vegetarian, alcohol-free town, and the hotel menu follows the same rule. Mussoorie has no such limit.

Itinerary (Day Wise)

This one is built entirely around the snow, so the order of places matters. It starts gently in Mussoorie — two nights up around 2,000 metres, walking Landour's quiet lanes and standing on Lal Tibba for the view north — before the drive drops through Devprayag, where two rivers actually become the Ganga, and climbs back up into Chopta's snow forest. That middle stretch is the heart of the trip: a walk toward Tungnath through the snow with Trishul and Nanda Devi in front of you, then evenings by a bonfire with dinner and a heater in the room. From there it's on to Auli for two more nights, a first ski lesson on the beginner slope, and a walk into Gorson Bugyal, a meadow that in winter is just a wide, white bowl under the peaks. The trip winds down on the way back — the Alaknanda carries you past the Panch Prayag confluences, and the last night is spent by the Ganga in Rishikesh before the flight home. Eight days, one guide and vehicle throughout, no one else ever sharing the car, and the whole thing timed for the window between late December and February when the snow is actually likely to be there.

Day 1

DELHI TO MUSSOORIE | Up Into the Foothills

Route: Delhi – Roorkee – Dehradun – Mussoorie

Your trip lead meets you at arrivals and the drive north begins straight away. The plains road runs through Meerut and Roorkee to Dehradun, and then climbs 26 km to Mussoorie. In January the days are short, with sunset at about 5:30 pm, so the car leaves the airport as soon as your bags are in and you arrive before dark.

Mussoorie sits at about 2,000 m on the first ridge of the Garhwal Himalaya. The hotel is a resort in the foothills near Mussoorie, roughly 66 km from Jolly Grant airport and 292 km from Delhi. You check in, and the first evening is for the fire, dinner and sleep. If you land late at night, a Delhi night can be added before the drive.

The Human Story

Mussoorie is not old by hill-station standards. Captain Frederick Young set it up as a resort in 1825, after he raised the first Gurkha regiment and planted the first potatoes in the valley. The railway reached Dehradun in 1900 and the town filled with visitors from the plains. Between October and February the town also has the winter line, a band of colour on the horizon at sunrise and sunset.

Experience of the Day

–  Drive up the ridge into the hills.

–  First evening by the fire, no schedule.

Food

Dinner at the resort. Choose from Teppan (Pan-Asian teppanyaki), Trout House Grill & Bar (Indian with Himalayan touches) or Wisteria Deck (Mediterranean).

Activities to Do

  • Airport pickup

  • Drive to Mussoorie

  • Welcome dinner

Optional Nearby Excursions

  • A couple's massage at the spa on arrival, if the drive was long.

Day 2

MUSSOORIE | Landour, Lal Tibba and a Slow Day

Route: Mussoorie (local sightseeing)

Mornings in January are clear and cold. Your guide takes you up to Landour, the quiet cantonment neighbourhood above the main town, where the roads are narrow and the pine forest comes down to the doorsteps. The writer Ruskin Bond has lived here for decades, and the bakeries and tea shops of the Landour bazaar are a good place to warm your hands.

From Lal Tibba, the highest point in Mussoorie at 2,275 m, you look north over the snow peaks of Garhwal on a clear day. Later the cable car takes you up Gun Hill at 2,024 m, and the afternoon is for Camel's Back Road, a flat walk lined with pines and an 1828 cemetery. Snow falls in Mussoorie occasionally between December and February, though less often than it used to, so this day is planned to be good with or without it.

The rest of the day is yours. A couple's spa session is arranged for the late afternoon, and dinner is quiet.

The Human Story

Above Happy Valley the Tibetan community has lived since the first Tibetan school opened in 1960, and about 5,000 Tibetans now live in this part of Mussoorie. Your guide takes you to a Buddhist temple and a café there.

Experience of the Day

–  Landour walk in the morning light.

–  Lal Tibba for the snow peaks.

–  Gun Hill cable car.

–  Couple's spa session.

Food

Recommended: breakfast at a Landour bakery, and hot momos in Happy Valley. Must-try: hot chocolate and fresh bread at the bakery in Landour.

Shopping

Woollen shawls and Tibetan handicrafts at Happy Valley and the Mall Road stalls. Your guide points you to shops with fixed prices.

Activities to Do

  • Landour morning walk

  • Lal Tibba viewpoint

  • Gun Hill by cable car

  • Camel's Back Road walk

  • Spa session (private)

Optional Nearby Excursions

  • Kempty Falls, a 12 m waterfall 15 km from town, best in a dry cold morning.

  • A private candlelit dinner at the hotel, arranged in advance.

  • Snow at Dhanaulti, if there has been fresh fall.

  • A visit to a Tibetan temple in Happy Valley.

Day 3

MUSSOORIE TO CHOPTA | Four Rivers to the Snow Line

Route: Mussoorie – Dehradun – Rishikesh – Devprayag – Srinagar – Rudraprayag – Ukhimath – Chopta

This is the longest day of the trip and it is planned as a slow one. You drive down through Dehradun to Rishikesh and then follow the Ganga upstream. At Devprayag the Bhagirathi and the Alaknanda meet, and from that meeting the river is called the Ganga. The road passes Srinagar in Garhwal and reaches Rudraprayag, where the Alaknanda meets the Mandakini. Your guide stops for lunch at a riverside place, and the driver takes breaks wherever the road allows.

At Ukhimath the road turns off the main valley and climbs the last 30 km to Chopta. It is narrow and runs through dense forest. Chopta is at 2,608 m, in the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary, with views of Trishul, Nanda Devi and Chaukhamba. Snow usually falls here from late December to February and January is the deepest month. You arrive in the late afternoon to a lodge with a heater, hot water and a bonfire.

Heavy snow can shut the last stretch of road for a day or two. If it does, the plan holds your two nights in Ukhimath or Rudraprayag and drives up as soon as the road is cleared. Your guide checks the road every evening before you leave.

Experience of the Day

–  Stop at the confluence at Devprayag.

–  Watch the road climb through pine and oak to Chopta.

–  First night by a bonfire in the snow.

Food

Lunch at a roadside restaurant in Srinagar or Rudraprayag. Dinner at the lodge is hot and simple: dal, seasonal vegetables and roti.

Activities to Do

  • Devprayag confluence stop

  • Drive to Chopta

  • Bonfire evening

Optional Nearby Excursions

  • A short snow walk near the lodge before dinner.

  • Star gazing on a clear night. Chopta has little light at night.

Day 4

CHOPTA | The Snow Walk to Tungnath

Route: Chopta – Tungnath trail – Chopta

The trail to Tungnath starts at Chopta and climbs 3.5 km to the temple, and Chandrashila lies 1.5 km beyond it at over 4,000 m. In winter the temple is closed and its deity moved down, and the trail is under snow. The trek to Chandrashila needs an experienced local guide in these months, so a local snow guide joins you from the village. He decides how far you go, and the walk turns back where the snow or the weather says so.

The point of the day is not the summit. It is the slow climb through rhododendron and oak forest with snow on every branch, and the moment the ridge opens and the Himalaya stand in front of you. Nights at Chopta fall to between minus 5 and minus 10 C and days reach only 0 to 10 C, so you start after breakfast, carry hot drinks and turn back by early afternoon.

Back at the lodge you rest by the fire. Dinner is by a bonfire, and the couple's touches, a cake and flowers, are arranged if you like.

The Human Story

Tradition says the Pandavas were searching for Shiva to be forgiven after the war at Kurukshetra, and he hid from them as a bull. Where the bull's parts came up in five places, five temples were built, the Panch Kedar. Tungnath, said to be where the arms appeared, is the highest of the five.

Experience of the Day

–  Snow walk on the Tungnath trail with a local guide.

–  Views of Trishul, Nanda Devi and Chaukhamba.

–  Bonfire dinner.

Food

Hot tea and soup on the trail, and a hot lunch back at the lodge. Must-try: a bowl of khichdi with ghee on a cold evening.

Activities to Do

  • Snow trail walk (guide decides the distance)

  • Photography at the ridge

  • Bonfire dinner

Optional Nearby Excursions

  • Deoria Tal, a lake at 2,350 m, if the road and the snow allow.

  • A rest day at the lodge, with a book and the fire.

  • Birdwatching in the sanctuary forest at first light.

Day 5

CHOPTA TO AULI | Across Chamoli to the Ski Slopes

Route: Chopta – Gopeshwar – Chamoli – Joshimath – AuliThe road drops from Chopta to Gopeshwar, 38 km away, and follows the Alaknanda valley to Joshimath. From Joshimath the road climbs to Auli, at between 2,500 and 3,000 m, and this is the stretch that can be closed by frost. In January 2026 frost on the road near the TV Tower area caused traffic jams and vehicle bans in bad weather, though four-wheel-drive vehicles were let through. Your vehicle and driver are chosen for this road.

The Joshimath–Auli cable car has been shut since 5 January 2023, when land subsidence appeared near its first tower, and a Rs 480 crore replacement was still in planning in 2026 reports. There is no cable car ride to Auli now. You arrive by road.

Your hotel is on or beside the slope. In the late afternoon you walk out onto the snow and watch the light go off Nanda Devi and Trishul.

Experience of the Day

–  Drive along the Alaknanda valley.

–  Sunset on Nanda Devi and Trishul from the hotel terrace.

Food

Lunch at Gopeshwar or Joshimath. Dinner at the hotel. Must-try: hot soup and a plate of momos after the cold air.

Activities to Do

  • Chopta to Auli drive

  • First walk on the snow

  • Sunset views

Optional Nearby Excursions

  • A short walk to a ridge above the hotel before dinner.

Day 6

AULI | First Turns on Snow

Route: Auli (slopes and Gorson Bugyal)

The ski season here runs from late December or January to March, with January to March the most favourable months, when nights fall to about minus 8 C. The slopes range from a 400 m beginner track to a 900 m white slope, and a standing lift and a chair lift carry you up. A private instructor takes the two of you through the basics on the gentlest slope, with the gear on hire. This is not a ski course. It is a morning to fall over and laugh.

After lunch you walk into Gorson Bugyal, a meadow of about 3 km that lies under snow at this time of year. From there Nanda Devi and Trishul stand above the forest. The afternoon ends with a hot drink at the hotel, and dinner is private if you want it.

Snow depends on the year. If a season is dry, the slopes are thin and we say so before you travel, and the lesson becomes a snow walk.

The Human Story

Auli is small. It is a slope, a meadow and a few hotels, and it lives on the Joshimath valley below it. The 2023 subsidence in Joshimath stopped the cable car, and the winter season on the slope now runs by road.

Experience of the Day

–  First turns on the beginner slope with a private instructor.

–  Snow walk into Gorson Bugyal.

–  Private dinner by the fire.

Food

Recommended: dinner at the hotel. Must-try: hot chocolate and soup after skiing, and a plate of rajma and rice.

Activities to Do

  • Private ski lesson

  • Chairlift ride

  • Gorson Bugyal snow walk

  • Rest in the afternoon

Optional Nearby Excursions

  • Chattrakund, a small water body in the forest above the meadow, if the snow allows.

  • A rest day with no lesson at all.

  • A visit to Joshimath town in the afternoon.

Day 7

AULI TO RISHIKESH | Five Confluences Back to the Ganga

Route: Auli – Joshimath – Chamoli – Karnaprayag – Rudraprayag – Devprayag – Rishikesh

The drive down follows the Alaknanda, and the river tells you where you are. It meets the Dhauliganga at Vishnuprayag near Joshimath, the Nandakini at Nandprayag, the Pindar at Karnaprayag, the Mandakini at Rudraprayag and the Bhagirathi at Devprayag. These five meetings are the Panch Prayag, and the last one makes the Ganga. Your guide stops at two or three of them.

You reach Rishikesh in the late afternoon. The Ganga here is still green and fast, and the hotel is on its bank. After eight hours in the car, the spa is booked for you before dinner.

If you feel like it, the evening aarti at the ghats is a short drive from town. Otherwise the evening is for the river, a last dinner together and sleep.

Experience of the Day

–  Stop at Karnaprayag and Rudraprayag confluences.

–  First view of the Ganga at Rishikesh.

–  Spa session before dinner.

Food

Lunch on the road in Srinagar or Devprayag. Dinner at the hotel by the river. Rishikesh is a vegetarian, alcohol-free town, and the hotel menu follows the same rule.

Activities to Do

  • Confluence stops

  • Riverside spa

  • Optional evening aarti

Optional Nearby Excursions

  • Evening Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Niketan or Triveni Ghat.

  • A walk across Ram Jhula in the morning before the drive to Delhi.

Day 8

RISHIKESH TO DELHI | Departure

Route: Rishikesh – Haridwar – Roorkee – Delhi Airport

Breakfast is unhurried, with a last look at the Ganga. The road south passes Haridwar and Roorkee and reaches Delhi in the early afternoon. In winter the plains fog can lift late, so the driver leaves early and your flight time is set with a margin.

Your trip lead drops you at the airport with time in hand. If you want to add a night in Rishikesh or a night in Delhi at the end, the route changes and the price follows.

Food

Breakfast at the hotel. A packed lunch or a stop at a highway restaurant on the way.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) & People Also Ask — Uttarakhand Mussoorie Chopta Auli Honeymoon Tour

We help you prepare for your trip and ensure an effortless and enjoyable travel experience.

What is the best time for a honeymoon in Uttarakhand?

The best time depends on what you want. Late December to February gives snow at Chopta and skiing at Auli, March to May gives mild weather and blooming forest, and October and November give clear air. This package is built for snow season, and we rebuild it for spring on request.

Will we see snow at Chopta and Auli in January?

Snow is likely at both in January but never guaranteed. Chopta usually has snow from late December to February, with January the deepest, and Auli's ski season runs from late December or January to March. Mussoorie sees snow only occasionally. If a season is dry we tell you before you travel.

Is the Auli cable car open?

No, the Joshimath–Auli cable car has been closed since 5 January 2023, when land subsidence appeared near its first tower. A Rs 480 crore replacement was still in planning in 2026 reports. You reach Auli by road, where frost can restrict traffic, and our vehicle is 4WD-capable with chains.

How many days do you need for Mussoorie, Chopta and Auli?

Eight days from Delhi covers all three with a night in Rishikesh, and each place gets two nights. The drives are long, with about 9 hours from Mussoorie to Chopta and 8 hours from Auli to Rishikesh. A shorter trip drops Auli or Mussoorie, and a longer one adds a weather-buffer night at Chopta.

Is the road to Chopta open in winter?

Usually yes, but heavy snow can close the last 30 km above Ukhimath for one to two days. Snow chains and an SUV are needed, and the guide checks the road every evening. If it is closed, the plan holds your nights in Ukhimath or Rudraprayag and drives up once the road opens.

Can beginners ski at Auli?

Yes, Auli has a 400 m beginner track and a standing lift and chair lift. Your private instructor takes the two of you through the basics with gear on hire, and it is a morning to fall over and laugh, not a course. Snow depth depends on the year, and the lesson becomes a snow walk if the slope is thin.

How cold does it get on this honeymoon?

Very cold at night. Chopta falls to between minus 5 and minus 10 C, with days from 0 to 10 C, and Auli reaches about minus 8 C. Every hotel has a heater or a fire, and we send a packing list with the booking. Mussoorie is milder, and Rishikesh is cool but not cold.

Will altitude be a problem on this trip?

Altitude is mild here. The highest stays are at Auli, between 2,500 and 3,000 m, and the route rises from 2,000 m at Mussoorie to 2,608 m at Chopta first, so the body adjusts gradually. Drink water, go slowly on the first evening and tell your guide about headache or breathlessness.

Can I trek to Tungnath and Chandrashila if I am not Hindu?

The trail and the Chandrashila ridge are open to everyone, but the Badri-Kedar Temple Committee resolved in March 2026 to bar non-Hindus from 47 temples, and reports name Tungnath. In winter the temple is closed, so nothing changes on this trip. If you travel in season, we confirm the rule before departure.

Is this honeymoon private?

Yes, the whole route is private. You have your own vehicle, driver and guide for eight days, with no other guests in the car and no group to wait for. A local snow guide joins you only on the Chopta walk. Dinners are for the two of you, and the guide keeps to the background.

Can we do this honeymoon in spring or summer instead?

Yes, March to May is a good alternative. Chopta is pleasant at 10 to 30 C and the forest is in bloom, and Tungnath temple opens in early May, so the temple-access question applies. June to September is not offered because cloud hides the mountains and landslides are a risk.

How much does a private Himalayan honeymoon cost?

A private eight-day Himalayan honeymoon costs about Rs.185,094 to Rs.199,902 per couple in Premium, Rs.308,196 to Rs.332,852 in Luxury, and Rs.475,165 to Rs.513,178 in Ultra-Luxury. These are modelled figures and depend on dates, hotels confirmed and upgrades. A Delhi night and extra lessons are priced separately.
