Why a Yoga Retreat in Rajasthan?

Most people think of Rishikesh or Kerala for yoga in India. Rajasthan offers something different: a retreat that feels like a slow holiday, with lake views, palace gardens and the gentle rhythm of a pilgrim town.

  • Udaipur, the City of Lakes. Calm water, quiet gardens and sunset boat rides make it easy to slow down.

  • Pushkar, a sacred small town. Days begin with temple bells and end with lamps glowing on the ghats. Meat and alcohol are not sold near the lake, which suits a mindful week.

  • Comfort, not austerity. You practise in a quiet hotel garden or room, then rest by a pool or enjoy a massage, rather than living by ashram rules.

  • Just one drive. You unpack only twice in eight days.

Every day follows a gentle, steady rhythm, so your body and mind can settle quickly.

  • A named, certified teacher. Our standard is a teacher with a recognised yoga certification, such as Yoga Alliance RYT-200 or above or the Ministry of AYUSH Yoga Certification Board, and at least five years of teaching experience, who teaches in English. The teacher’s name, training and background are sent before you book.

  • Two settings, one drive. Four nights in Udaipur and three in Pushkar mean you unpack twice in eight days. The only long drive, about five hours on Day 5, has a halt on the way.

  • –  Sattvic food, planned for you. Meals are vegetarian and freshly cooked, with plain, light dishes, and the kitchen is told about allergies and preferences before you arrive. Pushkar is a vegetarian town, and the plan keeps Udaipur meals light too.

Itinerary (Day Wise)

This is eight slow days with nowhere you have to be. Each morning starts with yoga as the light comes up, with a certified teacher who works only with you and your party. After that the day is yours: a massage, a swim, a nap, or a short trip out. You spend the first four nights in Udaipur, where you can wander the Garden of the Maidens before the crowds arrive, cook a few dishes in a family kitchen and take a quiet boat out on Lake Pichola at sunset. Then there’s one easy drive to Pushkar for three nights in a small holy town built around its lake. Temple bells start the day there, and lamps flicker on the ghats at dusk. If you feel like it, climb to Savitri Temple for the sunrise. Evenings end with breathing, meditation or yoga nidra and a light vegetarian dinner. It works whether you’ve never done yoga before or you practise every day.
