About
There’s something powerful about starting your Kedarnath Yatra from Delhi. The chaos of the city slowly fades, roads turn scenic, mountains rise… and somewhere between Haridwar and Guptkashi, the journey stops being just travel—it becomes devotion.
If you're planning a Kedarnath package from Delhi, this guide will help you understand everything—itinerary, cost, travel options, trek details, and smart tips so you don’t just book a trip… you plan it right.
The starting cost of the package is Rs. 25,499 per person with all the necessary inclusions so that you don’t have to worry about preparing or arranging resources for the yatra; we will take care of your whole plan.
A Kedarnath tour package from Delhi is a private tour of 3 nights 4 days, giving you enough time to complete the darshan hassle free. The journey begins early in the morning from Delhi Airport to Guptkashi or Phata or Sersi. Take a night halt and next day get up early and the driver will drop you to the helipad (if helicopter tickets are booked), else he will take you to Sonprayag, the last stop for private vehicles. From Sonprayag, you head to Gaurikund by opting for the local vehicle. From Gaurikund start the 16 km trek to Kedarnath Temple. After darshan and an overnight stay near the temple. Next day after morning aarti, trek back the same way and reach Guptkashi for a night stay. After breakfast, drive back to Delhi with beautiful memories.
This Kedarnath package from Delhi includes transportation (Delhi to Delhi), hotel stays, meals (usually breakfast & dinner), and basic assistance during the yatra, making it smooth even for first-time travelers. The total distance from Delhi to Sonprayag is around 450 kms. It’s a long and tiring journey covering this in a one go is tiring for both the travllers and drriverr as well. So However, pony/palki charges, helicopter tickets, VIP darshan, personal expenses, and anything that is not mentioned in the inclusions are usually excluded. So what are you waiting for.
Cost of Kedarnath Delhi Package
The cost of a Kedarnath package from Delhi starts from Rs. 25,999 per head. The package price depends on the season, room category, vehicle, and number of travellers. If you plan your trip in May, you will find a package costly, on the other hand, in Sept-Oct the prices are a little less.

Kedarnath Yatra Budget vs Luxury Experience
Firstly there is nothing called Luxury in Kedarnath at 1200 ft. The budget and luxury difference you can feel in the accommodations from Haridar to Gaurikund. If you book the Budget package for Kedarnath yatra from Delhi you’ll get a nice decent stay with basic amenities, but if you book a luxury package you’ll get a big nice cosy stay with all the advanced amenities. In Kedarnath the word luxury is completely missing. If you get a private room for 2 people, with an attached bathroom, geyser, that is a luxury in Kedarnath.
Feel like Real VIP
If you really want to feel like a VIP, then forget about stay and all, reach Dehradun Sahtradhara helipad where a private Heli charter flies you to Seri Helipad, from there another shuttle helicopter will take you to Kedarnath Dham. The best part is in this tour VIP darshan is included. It means no need to wait in a long queue, get direct darshan to Babar Kedar and fly back to Dehradun. Want to guess the time? It just takes 2-3 hours to complete the yatra. So if you’re interested - book Kedarnath Yatra by Helicopter package.
Network Connectivity in Kedarnath
On the hill , forget about the internet, getting a good network connection is difficult sometimes. On the route the network is in patches, at some points it’s really good but some places have poor connectivity. So, if you have BSNL, Jio or Airtel sim then you get a decent network for calls and updates, but don’t expect high internet speed at Kedarnath. That’s why if you are not carrying enough cash and rely on online payment then there is a high chance that your payment will be stuck or payment failure.

Extra Expenses You Should Be Prepared For
Medical Facilities Available on Route
Medical camps and basic healthcare facilities are available at multiple points like Gaurikund, Rambara, and Kedarnath. Oxygen cylinders and emergency services are also arranged during peak yatra season. Still, it’s wise to carry your personal medicines and consult a doctor before the journey, especially if you have pre-existing conditions.
Fitness Tips Before the Yatra
Start preparing at least 2–3 weeks in advance. Light cardio like walking, jogging, or climbing stairs can make a huge difference. Focus on stamina rather than speed. Stay hydrated, avoid smoking/alcohol before the trip, and most importantly—listen to your body during the trek. Kedarnath isn’t a race, it’s a journey meant to be felt.
Delhi to Kedarnath Distance
The distance from Delhi to Kedarnath Temple is approximately 460 km by road till Sonprayag, followed by a 16 km trek from Gaurikund to Kedarnath. In total, the journey combines road travel + trekking, and usually takes around 8–10 hours by road (Haridwar to Sonprayag) and 6–8 hours for the trek, depending on your pace and weather conditions. Traveling from Delhi to Sonprayag is a long and hectic journey, so break it into two halves, first Delhi to Haridwar or Rishikesh and second Haridwar to Sonprayag. Doing this your body will get rest, you will also get time to explore Haridwar or Rishikesh and witness divine Ganga aarti.

History and legend of Kedarnath Dham
The legend of the Kedarnath Dham is very old. It is believed that after the Kurukshetra war, the Pandavas sought repentance and tracked Shiva in the Himalayas. Shiva took their test and appeared in the form of a bull and later disappeared into the ground. But his hump was caught by Bhima, which remains as the triangular Jyotirlinga at Kedaranth. Some people say that the temple was built by the Pandavas and later revived by Adi Shankaracharya.
