According to the history, the Pandavas were guilty of killing their cousins & relatives, in battle of Mahabharata. In order to get rid of their sins, they went in search of Lord Shiva to seek his blessings. But Lord Shiva was deeply annoyed with Pandavas & took refuge in form of bull at Kedarnath. When Pandavas came to know about his location, they approached him but Lord Shiva disappeared into ground. Later his body parts reappeared at different locations which are popularly known as Panch kedar. His Hump appeared in Kedarnath, Arms surfaced at Tungnath, face at Rudranath & hairs at Kapleshwar.
Badrinath is located 3,133 m above sea level in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. The temple is one most important shrine among the Char Dham Pilgrimage sites & also highly revered among the Panch Badri. It is mentioned in Bhagavata Purana that at Badrikashram (means Badrinath), the sages Nara and Narayana had been undergoing great penance since time immemorial for the welfare of all living entities. This religious town is situated between Nar & Narayan Mountains on the bank of river Alaknanda
Adi badri is group of temples located at distance of 17 Kms from Karnaprayag on the way to Ranikhet. Some of temples were built during Gupta age. It is also believed that Adi Shankara in order to foster the spread of Hinduism has sanctioned this temple. It is believed that here Maha Rishi Ved Viyas wrote Shri Mad Bhagwat Maha Puran here.
Vridh Badri is located at an altitude of 1380 m in the Animath village which 7 km far from Joshimath. It is believed that Lord Vishnu appeared in form of Vridha or old man before sage Narada performed penance here. Thus, the idol installed at this temple is in the form of an old man. According to legends, Adi Shankara worshipped Lord Badrinath here before his enshrinement at Badrinath dham. The temple remains open throughout the year.
Bhavishya Badri is located at an height of 2744 mts in Subain village which is located beyond Tapovan, near Joshimath. Bhavishya Badri includes surface transfer uptill Saldhar which is 19 Kms from Joshimath. Later 06 kms trek further till temple. At Bhavishya Badri temple, the idol of Narasimha- the lion faced incarnation of Lord Vishnua, is enshrined.
According to the legend of Bhavishya Badri, when evil transcends the world, the mountains of Nara and Narayana would block up the route to Badrinath and the sacred shrine would become inaccessible. The present world will be destroyed and a new one established. Then, Badrinath will appear at the Bhavishya Badri temple and be worshipped here, instead of the Badrinath shrine
Yogdhyan Badri is located at Pandukeshwar at elevation of 1,920 m from sea level. Pandukeshwar is enroute from Govind Ghat to Hanuman Chatti, approx 9 kilometres away from Hanuman Chatti. According to the legend, King Pandu meditated here to evacuate their sin of committing fratricide (gotra hatya) and Brāhmanahatya (killing the Brahmins or priest) during the war of Mahabharata. The Shaligram stone statue of Lord Badri is carved in a meditative posture thus referred as Yoga-dhyan (mediative) Badri. Yogdhyan Badri is also considered the winter abode for the Utsava-murti (festival-image) of Badrinath, when the temple of Badrinath is closed.
Day 01: Arrive Haridwar
On arrival check-in at hotel. At evening proceed to witness Ganges Aarti at “Har-Ki-Pauri. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 02: Haridwar– Pipalkoti (Drive 250 Kms/09 hrs approx)
After breakfast proceed drive to Pipalkoti via Rishikesh, Devprayag, Rudraprayag. Overnight stay at hotel, Pipalkoti.
Day 03: Pipalkoti –Badrinath (Drive 80 Kms/03 hrs approx)
Morning proceed for Badrinath Dham Darshan. Visit Mana Village-the last village at Indo-Tibetan border. Overnight at the hotel, Badrinath.
Day 04: Badrinath - Yogadhyan Badri - Vishnuprayag – Joshimath (drive 45 Kms/02 hrs approx)
Morning proceed drive to Joshimath enroute visit Yogadhyan Badri and Vishnuprayag. On arrival check in the hotel, Joshimath.
Day 05: Joshimath - Bhavishya Badri - Vridh Badri – Pipalkoti (Drive- 12 Kms & Trek – 06 hrs approx)
Morning drive to Syaldhar, the base for trek to Bhavishya Badri. After Darshan drive to Vridh Badri. Post Darshan proceed to Pipalkoti for a night halt.
Day 06: Pipalkoti - Adibadri – Rishikesh (220 Kms/08 hrs)
After early breakfast drive to Rishikesh via Nandprayag, Karnaprayag and serve the prayer to Adi Badri. On arrival check in at the hotel, Rishikesh. Evening visit to Ram Jhoola & Lakshman Jhoola followed by Aarti of The River Ganges. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 07: Rishikesh Departure
After breakfast depart for onward destination.
