Helicopter flying success rate
If you are taking helicopter shuttle service to Kedarnath from Guptkashi/Phata/Sersi then your success mostly depends on timing, weather, and smart planning.
Reach the helipad early in the morning with all the documents and registration handy.
Always book your flight slot between 6 AM – 9 AM and have the highest success rate.
Stay near helipad (Guptkashi / Phata / Sersi)
Keep a buffer day in your plan
Avoid afternoon flying at all cost because flying rates reduce to 50% because of wind and clouds gathering in the valley. Also the visibility is getting lower…
Don’t panic if delayed—wait it out. Flights resumes as weather clear.

Why should you visit Badrinath along with Kedarnath?
To complete the Kedarnath yatra, it all takes 3 nights 4 days, but just adding 1 day you can cover both Kedarnath and Badrinath dham. Spiritually, visiting both Dhams together holds deeper meaning that many pilgrims don’t want to miss.
From Guptkashi, Badrinath is around 200 km away, and takes 6–8 hours. It saves you money and time in the long run. If you skip Badrinath now, you’ll have to plan another separate trip later—again spending 3–4 days on travel, hotels, and transport. Adding just one more day now helps you complete both dhams in a single trip, without repeating the same effort and cost again.
